RLM, lets also add Clinton's domestic policy that fueled Timothy McVeigh's hatred. Boy, Democrats sure do breed a lot of hatred!

Guns don't materialize in back alleys. They have to come from somewhere first.

    It would seem that way:

People Killed By My Car: 0

People Killed By Ted Kennedy's Car: 1

U.S. foreign policy in general sucks no matter who happens to be in the White House. We use our military and foreign aid (primarily weapons) to keep U.S. friendly dictators, oligarchs, and anyone else that promises to loot their own country while lining their own pockets to the detriment of the poorest 95% of their populations. It's nothing we haven't been doing that primarily benefits the multinationals forever and it explains why no matter who is in the White House, people will either hate us a little more or a little less depending on the wars of choice and nation building we decide to venture into.

So that fact that these terrorists were only able to shoot 1 policeman means that we should try to keep guns out of their hands. Gotcha!

Does it even bother you that high powered guns are so easy to obtain in this country that terrorists are starting to reference them in their hate videos? It really should but then that would be too rational.

Just saying that perhaps the terrorists should try to find Ted Kennedy's car. It's a proven lethal weapon; it killed as many people at Tsarnaev's gun.

Let me put it this way - chasing 1 of 310,000,000 would probably be less productive than jousting at windmills. However, going after one specific person who tries to publicly justify violence against his opponents could prove very fruitful. I just cannot fathom how someone so dead set against guns DUE TO THE VIOLENCE they propagate could possibly justify using violence merely to silence their opposition.

Let's just say that suddenly there were "backrground checks" at a gun show.

I think we can assume the "checks" would be different at every show for the most part. It would depend on state or local laws basically. Not federal laws.

This in mind, how many potential buyers would be "identified" as Al Qaeda and not be allowed to buy a gun?
I figure very few, if any, at most shows.

    Seriously,
If one believes there just might be a terrorist or two of ANY flavor here would one think that those same people are out committing petty crimes? I doubt it. Lay low right?
I HIGHLY doubt it when it comes to Al Qaeda. Again, lay low.

Yet good "law abidning American citizens" have a problem with backround checks. WHY?

Why should a gun collector/enthusiast have a problem with this? You'd be legit after all wouldn't you? Why would you want to hide anything?

    BIG QUESTION THERE EH?

"Giving guns" to potential terrorist seems to make sense to many these days.

Perhaps because many are "potential terrorists".
