Indeed. It makes me absolutely sick to think that anyone would say there might be "specifics of a case" where it is OK to kill the baby. I've found that many liberals feel this way and it amazes me that human beings can have such a lack of empathy toward other human beings. It reminds me of the same mentality that a certain group of people had in the 1930's in Germany.

The way you pose the question, either we do "everything" to save the baby's life or we kill it. Those are the two black and white alternatives that you give us.

Since we're creating little scenarios here, what would you do with this one? The baby is very much alive, but brain dead and with no motor functions. It is surviving only through the use of machines and intravenous feeding. Do we pull the plug or do we keep it hooked up indefinitely?
Or this variation...
The baby is alive, but brain damaged and also needs a heart transplant in order to have any hope of living for more than a month or so. And even if it does have its transplant and the procedure is successful it will still never develop mentally to any significant degree and will never be able to perform even the most basic physical activities for itself.
Or this scenario...
Same heart transplant, but no guarantee of success obviously. But if successful, best guess is that the baby would grow up mildly mentally handicapped and with care could have a good quality of life, although it would almost certainly suffer a recurrence of heart issues ten or fifteen years down the road.
And this one...
The baby appears healthy and shows every indication that it will grow and develop normally.

 

Two possible scenarios here. If you're a liberal, kill it. If you're a conservative, save it.

Like any other issue abortion is NOT a black and white issue. When one makes it that it only shows a lack of ability to even consider the reality of the subject at hand.

You speak of "lefties" as if they were all out in the streets chanting "Abort for any reason!". Has that happened where you live?

Were they all lefties"? How would you know?
What is a "lefty" and what is a "righty"? Were some of those "righties" "lefty" and were any of the "lefties" "righty"?

How about this...the next time there's a meeting of democrats, in your area, walk up to the front of the room & propose an immediate freeze on abortions & see what happens.

 

A freeze (whatever that means) would be against the law since abortion is a legal medical procedure as determined by the Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade as well as your personal fixation.

 

Nice attempt to dodge but, once again, what would happen if you addressed a room full of dems & suggested a freeze on all abortions?

 

I hope that they would have the good sense to throw me out of the room especially the women in attendance.

By the way I'm not a Democrat. Just so happens I'm REALLY not a Republican at this point.

It's been really hard for me to understand anything Republicans say these days.
