And you wonder why MSNBC is having problems!! http://www.fiscalconservatives.com/videos/XaPL_iknQkI.html
True or false: The Tea Party has major issues with the tax-code. True or false: The Tea Party is a political entity. True or false: The Tea Party is anti-government. True or false: The Tea Party is anti-spending. True or false: The Tea Party is anti-Obama. True or false: The Tea party is anti-immigration. True or false: The Tea Party is against compromising with other political entities. My point? The Tea Party is absolutely worthy of extra scrutiny from the IRS, due in major part to their party-platform.. I do believe the IRS dropped the ball on this, but who is the IRS? They are a politically-mixed entity, with republicans and Democrats being career employees. To say only the Democrats are responsible is to be entirely ignorant of the make-up of the department. As a political entity with a general hatred for the IRS and taxes in general, all of the Tea Party's applications should have been rejected. That they were accepted raises the question of "Why?" IMO, that's where we need to be focusing on. The problem is, government is run by both major parties, and they don't leave when an opposing party's candidate wins the Presidency. That means the government is always in a state of battle with itself. (singing) "Dysfunction junction, what's your function?"
It's none of the IRS's business if Tea Parties (there are more than one, you know) are "anti-government" (not true), "anti-Obama" (not true, just against everything he wants to force upon us), etc. So what if the Tea Parties have major issues with the tax code? When did that become a factor for discriminatory scrutiny? I can't believe anyone would defend the IRS's actions in this case. Boy, talk about un-American!
On her radio show yesterday, Fox News provocateur Andrea Tantaros said: "This is Obama’s America. It’s like the Soviet Union. He said he’d change the country. He said it. He said it. He said it. And a lot of people voted for him. And if you see any of those people today, punch them in the face." Would that be FOX inciting violence against Obama supporters? I'd say it is FOX with the major problem not MSNBC.
What I'm really surprised at is that I didn't realize that I was wondering why MSNBC was having all those problems. Uhm....what problems was that again?
As usual, the half truth game. Ratings have dropped across the board of CNN, MSNBC, and FOX because....you guessed it, it isn't an election year and people tune out. Big deal! The cable news industry was hit with another month of tough ratings news. Every network saw its ratings drop from 2012, a politics-heavy election year that was guaranteed to spike audiences. In primetime, Fox News suffered the biggest plunge, falling 33 percent from its 2012 numbers. CNN fell a nearly equally precipitous 28 percent, while MSNBC dropped 4 percent. Fox News, which has had several well-publicized ratings issues over the past few months, saw its primetime numbers fall to new lows in the all-important A25-54 category for many shows. MSNBC gloated in its press release, saying that hosts Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren had their worst demo ratings ever. Bill O'Reilly's demo ratings were also off by 26 percent. (All three shows were, of course, still at the top of the ratings.)
Communists, liberals, socialists and Occupy Wall Street-types will never understand the Tea Party movement. The Tea Party wants limited government and a return to Constitutional principles. Of course, that's anathema to communists, liberals, socialists and the Occupy idiots who want overwhelming government and would love to change or abolish the Constitution. Look where overwhelming government is getting us today: Overstepping their bounds with the AP phone records scandal and the IRS treating our citizens unfairly. It's not difficult to see why the Tea Parties are making a comeback. This is exactly the type of out-of-control government they've been railing against for the past four years: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/05/26/tea-party-gets-bump-after-being-targeted-by-irs/
Seems the actual ratings disagree with you! http://www.deadline.com/2013/05/obama-msnbc-fox-news-scandals/
Part of FOX "News"'s ratings come from people like me, who want to see just how nasty they can get...and I'm NEVER disappointed in that respect. The ignorance there is astounding. They live in a circle-jerk, constantly complaining about their political opponents and claim anything and everything they want with no regard for truth. It's like watching a train wreck, where the whole country is subjected to the collateral damage from their constant mindless rants. It's horrible entertainment, fiction at it's worst, but not news.
The same could be said about MSNBC too, I suppose. On the rare occasion I get to watch TV, I watch MSNBC. I figure that if you simply believe the exact opposite of what they report you'll come away with a good dose of the truth.
How they present news as commentary isn't even the most egregious aspect of FOX. It is the fact that they never correct any of their multitude of reporting "errors" and misrepresent the truth in as partisan way as possible. Come on, if you are news, you must make mistakes once in a while and make on-air corrections but not FOX. I admit that I don't watch all that much FOX but have you ever seen them do a correction? I see Rachel Maddow correct very minor errors very openly but apparently FOX never makes mistakes and if you believe that I have a bridge I'd like to sell you cheap. Meet me in Brooklyn.
You can add "Tea Party" to the list of people who will never understand the Tea Party movement as well. They are led by the cream of the dumb crop, and thats putting it kindly. I bet Palin couldn't quote a single Constitutional right, and get it even somewhat correct. The Constitution was never meant to be followed strictly as a way of governing. That is basically a theocracy...the type of government the founders were freeing themselves from. And theocracies can only be run one way, through dictatorship. Of course, I'm sure many on the fringes of society think we're in a dictatorship now. But these are the same people who think aliens probed their behinds as children. No, ask someone who survived WW2 Germany, Austria, Poland what dictatorship really is. Or a refugee from Somalia or Iran, ask them. If people think the US has one they obviously have no valid world opinion on anything.
How they present news as commentary isn't even the most egregious aspect of MSNBC. It is the fact that they never cover any news even slightly negative to their mores nor correct any of their multitude of reporting "errors" and misrepresent the truth in as partisan way as possible. Come on, if you are news, you must make mistakes once in a while and make on-air corrections but not MSNBC. I admit that I don't watch all that much MSNBC but have you ever seen them do a correction? I see Bill O'Reilly correct very minor errors very openly but apparently MSNBC never makes mistakes and if you believe that I have a bridge I'd like to sell you cheap. Meet me in Brooklyn. Oh, and it is the funny thing that MCNBC has no news. They are 100% commentary and assorted fillers while Fox actually covers hard news about 8 hours per day.
LOL Thanks for the good long laugh that induced. If you think Fox spews news, I really do feel bad for you.
You have made that rather obvious. After all they do not all/always agree with Obama/liberalism unlike MSNBC's commentary.
