Not sure if there's any substance to this claim, but it's worth checking out: View attachment 1813 View attachment 1815 http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...ti-zimmerman-protests-after-trayvon-shooting/
If anybody bothers to read beyond the first paragraph of that story (no doubt at least a few will) it's made pretty clear that "Judicial Watch" selectively edited the document (read: LIED) which they're waving around as a "smoking gun," and that there's nothing to this story. This is Fox News "just asking questions" aka JAQing off. See Wikipedia: Betteridge's law of headlines.
Does this sound familiar? Same state, same laws, same fight, same 911 call, and yet this fellow was released in 12 hours, not charged with murder and not tried in the media. Would you care to guess what the difference is?
It sounds like the novelty is wearing off Florida's kill-at-will law. I mean how often can we get all worked up over a guy taking legal steps to protect himself in the face of what he perceives as a threat? Now if it had been the eight-year-old who tried to interfere as this guy was exercising his legal rights and he'd blown HER away, THAT might have made a wave or two.
It turned out this wasn't Zimmerman's first run-in with the law. He had previously been accused of domestic violence by a former girlfriend, and he had also previously been arrested for assaulting a police officer. More controversially, in July 2012, an evidence dump related to the investigation of Martin's death revealed that a younger female cousin of Zimmerman's had accused him of nearly two decades of sexual molestation and assault. In addition, she had accused members of Zimmerman's family, including his Peruvian-born mother, of being proudly racist against African Americans, and recalled a number of examples of perceived bigotry.
Interesting conclusions - drawn without evidence. First off, the Dooley incident was pretty much coincident with Zimmerman. And, secondly, Dooley was convicted.
It also seems some of the local authorities are blaming interference/pressure from Washington & the likes of Sharpton & Jesse Jackson for the not guilty verdict. Apparently, there was so much pressure applied from DC to get charges filed that a thorough investigation couldn't be conducted + pressure from Sharpton & Jackson led to Zimmerman being overcharged.
I don't know, I've been concerned about a number of suspicious people around my neighborhood. One guy parked his car in front of my house several times, opened the hood of his car and checked out my place. I know him, he's a thief who likes to steal tools, and he knows I have them. Good thing Michigan has a similar law. Good thing there's precedent. I can now go outside and confront him about his thieving ways. I'll take one of my son's guns out with me, just in case he attacks me. Uh ohhhh, now there's someone jogging. She looked at my house in a suspicious manner. She's probably up to no good. I'm calling the police and confronting her. She looks dangerous, I'll bring the gun. Neighbors threatened to kill people during the fourth of July. I'll go make sure they're not armed and dangerous. Man, there are a lot of suspicious-looking people in my neighborhood. Good thing I have the law on my side now, as I was feeling threatened by them. Great verdict.
The verdict is what it is and the justice system has spoken. Right or wrong, it is our justice system and we have to live with it. At least there even was a trial. Initially, Zimmerman wasn't even charged and none of knows what the jury heard or had to consider during this trial. The lawyers did what lawyers do, they presented their case let jury decide guilt or innocence. Like I said before and still believe, I don't believe Zimmerman went there to kill anyone that night but he did get into a situation that caused the death of an unarmed teenage boy. My guess is that Zimmerman has one more trial in civil court to sit through and that will cost him $$$$$$!!!
Don't let that Second Amendment Remedy just sit there gathering dust. We fought a revolution for the right to blow away people who we claim to believe are a threat to us. Just remember, if they aren't acting particularly threatening be sure to stalk and harass them until they are. Then fire away.
Unfortunately NRA thugs will almost certainly cover the legal tab for any future trials. All Zimmerman will have to do is lie about how much money they've given him. Plus, I wouldn't be surprised if Faux or maybe CNN has already offered him a 1% level job.
I know what you mean, there's never someone around when these creeps are walking the neighborhood. I just hope that someone, anyone, will have some evidence to present to the cops, since I'll likely be the only one who can tell them what happened. I'd hate to be charged with a crime when someone viciously attacked me. My wounds would prove my life was in danger though. I have faith.
I would never do what Zimmerman did. However, that is a far cry from saying I would let a known thief case my home on multiple occasions without letting my presence be known. Of course, in Illinois, I would have to do it without a gun (at least for 6 more months or so). A known thief probably wouldn't worry about any gun laws, of course.
Why (or how) does your son have guns? Folks really only own guns for one of three reasons: For protection...which you have claimed is stupid. For shooting...which is a pretty expensive hobby. As collectors items...which is also extremely expensive. Which one is it?
I own mine for protection but I think you forgot one other reason David. Some people still hunt. For food or trophies that is.
