So..., What is this Shutdown About Today?

Anyone have any idea what the GOP is demanding now in order to end this shutdown? I know they demanded that the ACA be defunded initially but they seem to have given that up. I'm just curious what their current demands are. I know that they will be different tomorrow but what are their demands currently? Anybody want to chime in and let me know what this leaderless, feckless, befuddled, addle-brained GOP mob wants in order to end this shutdown? I really don't know where we stand and I'm guessing neither do they. If the GOP actually has a position, I'm sure the resident repukes can articulate it here. Come on guys! Let's hear 'em.

Fine! Just like the last shutdown was about Gingrich sitting in the back of the plane, this one is about the egos on the Right. After all, they are not going to be disrespected no matter how little respect they actually deserve.

 

Not to mention the right says Obama refuses to negotiate a clean budget bill, despite the fact that he has offered 21 times this year to negotiate terms this year alone and the right has refused to participate, yet now they want to. How anyone can justify their conscience decision to vote for republicans these days baffles me.

 

Do you notice that none of our local Right-wing lunatics can articulate exactly what this shutdown is about at this point? Very telling when even the people arguing for a position can't articulate it. Hum?

I think the goal is to make the public ok with a permanent 'shutdown'.

And they are getting close to winning since all of the workers currently not working are going to get paid whether they work or not and the DOD civilians are pretty much back to work 100%. If the Republicans can get the monuments open, as far as the public is concerned, it will be hard to realize there is still a 'shutdown'.

Before I was "sequestered", I was a DoD contractor in the DC area. The Sequester helped me...I got a generous relo package that got me out from under my mortgage.

All my DoD civilian (government) golf buddies are LOVING life. They're playing 36 holes a day (weekday rates!)...knowing that they will be paid retroactively.

These are BOOM times in Myrtle Beach. Government workers LOVE government shutdowns...it's free vacation!!! ...in addition to all the government holidays, five (5) weeks of regular vacation, AND no Obamacare!!!

All they have to do is vote "Democrat"...to keep the party going...(that's reality).

 

I don't even know if Myrtle Beach is red or blue but I still have to ask, what choice do they have in the matter? Seems like if it works out for them, it works out for them.

If an argument is made about any negative impact to government workers vis-a-vis "the shutdown"...trust me, they'll survive.
