Father Shot to Death in Movie Theater for Texting

Of course this is in Florida. Where else do you find people emboldened by an insane Republican law that says you can shoot whoever you want if you just say that you feel threatened. The shooter argued with the man about texting during the movie previews and left the theater and returned with a gun and continued the argument until the guy threw a bag of popcorn at which point he was shot and killed by the retired police officer. So many times people get into petty public arguments over stupid things but once you introduce a deadly weapon, people die that didn't have to die. Now let the crazy Right-wingers jump to this guys defense when we all know this could have easily been avoided by sane gun laws.

 

Oh. BTW, he is being held on murder charges without bail.

 

I don't see where this has anything to do with the right to bear firearms. I don't know all the facts of the story, but if the guy decided to shoot another guy over a bag of popcorn, well, that says something about mental stability not a Constitutional right. There are many people in this country who choose to exercise their right to bear a firearm, but don't do it recklessly.

 

I didn't see the OP mention anything about the 2nd Amendment but possibly they have a anti-2nd Amendment stance I'm unaware of, but I agree with the rest that you said.

The only problem with guns is they can make big people out of little minds and little minds aren't taught that lesson, or they wouldn't be little minds, so little minds always end up violating it.

The bottom line is respect is not being taught correctly, nor learned or understood by most, but that's a whole 'nother can of werms.
