I'd say that this tactic just screams of desperation, but really, the Republicans aren't doing badly when it comes to Congressional seats. Of course politicians, all politicians are liars, but when your national organisation stoops to this level, some might say that it's an indication of exceptional lack of respect for the voting public. I can't think of any way to portray this as an honourable approach to campaigning, and I look forward to some Republican sycophant showing me how that's done. "National Republican Congressional Campaign using fake Democrat websites to lure voters"
... from the article you referenced: Do Democrats do it, too? The NRCC press secretary told us the Republican strategy is cleverer, but that Democrats have done the same thing. One day after CNN’s interview Scarpinato directed CNN to a site mocking a Republican built by the Florida State Democratic Party, which the national Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee insists it had nothing to do with.
Any difference between a "site mocking a ____ " and a fake site posing as something it is not? Mocking v fraud?
Tricky little bastards. Well, not THAT tricky, in this case. Things like this tend to come back to haunt them, yet they simply can't stop doing it. Still, everyone should be careful about what they read and put faith into. Not every trick is this easy to identify.
The Republicans point to what one Democrat state organisation (hello, Florida!) has done, as some sort of excuse or justification for their national campaign committee adopting this tactic. That doesn't make it all good. I'd still like to hear how Republicans spin this as a completely honest, straight-forward way to get more votes for their candidates. It doesn't seem possible. The thing is, despite the crowing from Scarpinato, I don't think this will do the Republicans much good. A person may come across one of these sites because they're interested in learning more about a particular candidate, but once they're there, it becomes obvious that the site is not supporting the candidate. It seems that they all follow the same pattern that can be seen here, and here. If I were on the fence regarding a particular candidate and saw a site like that, I'd get the idea that their opponent was even more underhanded than your average politician. They seem to proclaim: "Dirty Tricks Я Us. Vote Republican: we have no shame!"
As I have said time and again, if there is any ethical bar to be lowed, leave it the right-wing to race for the floor. Their desperation is showing up in all kinds of underhanded and frankly playground tactics these days. They are like a bunch of spoiled children incapable of seeing their own immaturity. Let's assume that their pathetic excuse was 100% true and Democrats had actually done exactly the same thing to them, although we know that really didn't' happen, would responding to something that childish and unethical with the same behavior be the response a group of adults would actually come up with? It's clear that there was no real provocation by the Democrats in the first place but imagine coming up with this plan of theirs and saying, "OK, how do we justify this unethical website with something the Democrats did?" It just speaks to so many levels of immaturity and lack of ethics that had to be in play on the part of these Right-wingers that you have to conclude that ethics aren't a real issue for them in the first place.
You're whining to anyone who will listen. Once again, I'm telling you to come down off your high horse, Little Joe. Your argument falls flat: View attachment 2298 http://johnrlott.tripod.com/2005/08/democrats-set-up-fake-organizations-to.html View attachment 2299 http://www.examiner.com/article/nh-democrats-host-fake-war-on-women-rally View attachment 2300 http://www.dakotavoice.com/2011/03/democrats-indicted-for-fake-tea-party-candidate-election-fraud/ View attachment 2301 http://www.frontpagemag.com/2013/dgreenfield/democrats-use-fake-hunters-group-to-push-gun-control/
Now that is comical These are the same folks that 'blame' the sunrise on the occult, right? Or was it the moon? They blame fossils on satin for casting doubt on the inerrant word of dog in da bible Sleep well tonight, nothing to worry about here
What's more telling is that Democrats don't read the fine print. If they did, they would know that the site was in opposition to their candidate. Oh well, look, feel, click. I am glad they are getting their money back, Democrats require that level of assistance.
