What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

Guns in bars, guns in nightclubs, guns in libraries, guns in churches, guns in stadiums, guns in youth centers, guns in senior centers, etc., and best of all, legal silencers. This is a brilliant piece of legislation which will pave the way for a safer state of Georgia and soon, if other lawmakers are smart enough to follow this example, a safer country. Desert Eagle 9mm-- don't leave home without it!

Ask the Founding Fathers what could "go wrong". They're the ones who said the government will guarantee your right to bear firearms and, subsequently, made it the law of the land.

"As lawmakers negotiated behind the scenes, there appeared to be two sticking points: whether to force churches to allow weapons holders to carry guns into houses of worship and whether Georgia will legalize silencers, known technically as suppressors.

The Senate wanted to legalize silencers but ban guns from churches unless specifically authorized; the House wanted to continue to ban silencers but require churches to “opt out” of allowing weapons.

The final version would legalize the use of silencers for hunting and says guns remain banned in houses of worship unless church leaders allow them."

I gotta wonder how many people pack at church and why?

Nice to see you back Jack. I wonder where I fall on that list these days. The "tolerate and consider" these days that is...;)

Anyway the whole situation IS interesting. One can look at it several ways with all the variables involved.

    For instance. Guns in bars.

Stupid people in bars is the main reason I never really frequented them.
People react to alcohol differently. Some get mean, some get mellow.

Now, toss in a conversation about religion or politics and what could happen?
    Drunk morons with weapons? Possibly.

Still it would probably only be ONE moron. Then a shootout in self defense. But what if the "defender" didn't have "defense""?

    What about the other patrons?

Just so happens I work right next door to a bar.

Posted on the window is sign that reads:

    "NO OFFENSIVE AFFILIATION COLORS ALLOWED".

Generally a fairly quite bar as far as I can tell. Yet some time ago there was a "scuffle" in there and a gun dropped out of a customers pocket.

Younger customers and not regulars. The owner seemed to think they might be gang members hence the sign.

Hell, if I ran a bar I'd be looking into metal detectors.

Leave the weapons in your vehicle please.

I am A OK with guns in churches. Hi cap mags, fully loaded, no safety, full auto and hair triggers. Evolution.

Me too, though my reasonings are a bit different.

The main reasons being that guns are readily available in America, that people have gone into churches and started shooting at will, and that churches can decide for themselves if they want to let members carry guns into their church.

It is a bit interesting to me to see them struggle with "gun-rights" versus "religious freedoms". It's their struggle to define which right has more "dominance" over the other.

My guess is that the people believing gun-rights have dominance will quickly find a church that allows guns, and those that do not want guns in church will find churches that do not allow them.

Pretty much why I raised the question IQ.

People should be able to go to their Church, Mosque, Synagogue, Temple etc. to practice their beliefs without the fear of getting killed for it in their place of worship.

Doesn't always work that way though does it.

    I don't believe so.

This in mind when you shoot someone in a bar because they "looked at you wrong" you CAN get a DUI when you leave.

Yes, but only if you are carrying a loaded gun as well. The gun crowd is off the rails in this country.

I prefer to be without fear of getting killed always everywhere and some place being a church has zero to do with it :)
