What is it about the color of a person's skin that determines how he should vote?

I understand, and hesitated posting it...but then I thought of the two perspectives that second song has: That of a child nursing and that of it's father envying his child. On the one hand it's a purely innocent activity on the other it borders on being vulgar.

Most people, myself included, would look at it from the perspective of it being vulgar, since it's an old man telling the story about his son nursing. Even he agrees it's "testing" the boundaries of decency. I wish more politicians, republicans in particular, had the ability to know when they are "crossing the line" of decency, but they are too focused on manipulating voters to realize they've gone too far.

Yes, I am referring to Benghazi in particular, but not exclusively.

    Not THAT is spin. :D

Selling out to the highest bidder is more the practice of paying to elect people so you personally can get a tax loophole for your industry. Supporting someone for the sake of the equality of all seems rather noble. Not like you'd know the difference.

Back to the OP, While I don't totally agree with what Clyburn said, I also can't put myself in his or his supporter's shoes, as can I suspect anyone else here. Not being a minority in a country that still clings to 19th century feeling towards people of non-white races, I have no idea what they feel their needs are and how they feel about having a voice for their cause.

However, fighting racism with racism is not the answer, in my opinion. Not that it's hampered politicians since the beginning, but an elected official should be above that. Wishful thinking I suppose. In the end, it won't benefit the people he's trying to represent any more than it will benefit those he is obviously not concerned with representing.

Other than to divide and control, there is really no reason for James Clyburn to bring race into that conversation. The concept of Scott being a Race Traitor or whatever Clyburn wants to imply is as ludicrous as saying a white liberal is a Race Traitor.

Yes, being Black is part of who Scott is just as being White is part of who I am. Just as being a man is part of who we both are. But that doesn't mean there is some rule book you have to follow because of your race or gender. Or at least it shouldn't. But, to some it does.

I think it is all a low handed attempt to keep one of the most reliable voting blocks in place. Traditionally you could count on 98% of the black vote to go Democratic. As the black population goes more mainstream in jobs and income, you'll find the voting block dissipating. This is what scares them the most, where the evil bad guy stories about the GOP no longer hold weight. I have seen black guys marching in Tea Party rallies and white guys singing the blues. Race is and should be a non-issue, people are people. I hope sometime in my life that we will be beyond this.

Sidebar: I was in the Soviet Union back in the mid-80's and one of the party members on the crew told me a joke about a CIA agent who infiltrated the Kremlin. The agent was the best we had and his operation was flawless. The punch line was "but Mr Jones, your black", implying that we Americans couldn't tell the difference. At that point, I never felt prouder to be an American.

It certainly is obvious that the majority of racism we see today, both overt & veiled, comes from the left.

Ask Cliven Bundy, ask all the black guys you've elected, ask all the Rush Limbaugh listeners, both of them, ask all the black people that regularly support Republicans. Oh yeah, they are lazy and dumb to vote for Democrats in your opinion. Now that's not racist.

Blacks vote for Democrats consistently to the tune of over 90% so by your logic over 90% of blacks are DUMB. Your word! But you're not racist or anything right? Even though you just called 9 out every 10 black people in this country DUMB.

What do you call people that consistently vote against their own best economic interests for purely ideological reasons? Most people just call them Republicans. Now that's DUMB!

I'd stop putting black people down if I were you, your track record on dumb voting is far worse than theirs.

So, you believe voting to continue the cycle of poverty is in the dimocrats best interest? Poor people have been voting dimocrat for years yet they're still poor. The dimocrat strategy has been to create generational dependence, not helping poor people improve their situation.
This agenda seems to benefit the upper crust of the dimocrat party but it sure hasn't helped the everyday person improve his or her life.

And under this administration, the poor have fared worse than the rest.

So now the conversation isn't about racism anymore because you just demonstrated your own racist views by calling over 90% of blacks DUMB, so you make that Right wing typical shift from talking about blacks and racism to lazy black people and their dependence on welfare. Again, racist!
I brought up the middle class filled with white guys like you voting for Republicans even though they consistently screw the middle class to the benefit of the wealthy class with people like me because abortion is just wrong or some such nonsense.
Blaming either the victims of poverty for their own situation or blaming those that at least try do rectify the situation seems like a very convenient position for a group that chooses to do absolutely nothing for those same impoverished people. Instead of having to do "anything" or come up with any solution, it is easier to criticize those that do try to help. Perhaps you think blacks were freed after the Civil War and then they were treated as equals. Here is a clue, they weren't and still aren't no matter how clueless you remain. Poverty is generational because blacks have been second class citizens in this country forever. Not because people have tried to help them.

Umm, I say voters are dumb if they vote dimocrat not because of the color of their skin. Kinda sounds like you're being the racist here, doesn't it?

And since you support this administration which has selectively beat down the poor (and many of your dumb blacks are poor), you are supporting racism. You are encouraging their laziness and dependence on welfare.

Your word, not mine. Are you backtracking your comments now or do you not believe that blacks vote democratic over 90% of the time? Which is it? You can't come to any other conclusion based on your statements. You said, "anyone who votes dimocrat consistently is DUMB!" No real wiggle room there. You either stand by it or you don't. DO YOU?
