The banks have an interesting system that funnels money, your money, to them. They are legally able to do this because they lobbied for it and they have key people inside the government that advise others. Lobbies use $$$ to influence politicians to vote for their benefit. The key people inside the government advise all of them that this is the system that works, that this and that needs to be legal in order for the economy to flourish. They advise that doing anything else would harm the country. In these ways, our laws have been created to funnel $$$ into the pockets of big business, banks being a critical part of big business.

So, David here was, and to a degree still is, part of that highly beneficial system. Well, it's been highly beneficial to him, anyway. Meanwhile, people lose their homes, children are taken away from their families and people are left homeless.

Compounding this is the republican demand that taxes be lowered, along with less government and the resulting loss of revenue. As revenue dwindles, republicans demand that support for the most needy be curtailed or otherwise eliminated. Some of them want to eliminate Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and food-stamp programs. others want an increase in Military spending.

So go ahead and complain about poor people. It what rich old white men do best.
