I will put Rudy's PROVEN record against anybody. He took over a hell hole from the democratic leadership in NYC and made NYC one of the safest large cities in the world.

He CUT taxes well over 20 times and guess what you socialists? Income coming into the city ROSE. Something democrats still can't figure out with tax cuts from Kennedy to Reagan to Bush II. $$$ in the hands of people that work and produce WORKS over a government agency.

Last but not least...I trust him to kill muslim terrorists and not be so concerned if these animals hide behind "friendlys" because his attitude is..."Why the hell are you people so close to these animals in the first place? And if you die...well, that is WAR!"

And Rudy wouldn't be afraid to enact orders to protect our country...something democrats have proved that have no will nor resolve to protect this country.

I take what a man DOES versus what he SAYS anyday...and what Rudy DID in NYC even with the likes of Rosie O'Donell fighting him alone the way (i.e., homeless issue in NYC), he in fact DID it and the city is a 100 times better than when Dinkens ran it.

You just can't handle what he did through his ACTIONS.

 

This is a pretty clear example of the difference between Republicans and Democrats. All Midas can talk about is money, taxes, and income. That is the only way he can see politicians as money givers and money takers. Never a mention of how Rudy made the average persons life in YN easier or made them better off in any way, just how much money was redistributed(and we all know the needy didn't see any of it). More and more we are becoming a government for the rich, by the rich, and all statistic bear this out. The income gap, the poverty level, the growing numbers of hard working poor. But Midas still wants the rich to have more. When is it ever enough money for some people. Never! If they can't die with a coffin full of money, they just aren't ever going to be happy in life.
I won't apologize for caring about others above money. Circumstances are getting tougher and tougher on the average citizen day by day and all people like Midas want to throw their way is some more meaningless statistic that comfort him while he hides behind his shades weapon in hand protecting the only things that matter to him...his possessions.
That is the difference between Democrats and Republicans...Democrats care about the people of this country while Republicans only care only about what they can get from this country. A Life-long Democrat.
Anyway, the continuum of political perspectives of both Democrats and Republicans makes it impossible to say all Democrats or all Republicans are either this way or that way but the above example is referring to extreme Republicans like Midas and not all Republicans of course. It's not like he can differentiate between moderate, extreme or anywhere in between Democrats. They are all just stereotypes he can label without bothering to notice the wide range of opinions and diverse ideas that exist on both side of the political divide he labors to widen with every post. Notice any similarities in his approach to Islam. The problem with black and white minds is that they are in the dark half of the time and blinded by the light the other half.

 

More smoke and mirrors from our Democratic friend, who don't care how much you have to spend on 'others', just as long as it is yours he's spending and his friends who receive it. Yep! one of the big spenders in person.

 

It is always easier to spend other people's money, OldDan. I mean do the Democratic candidates really need Chrysler 300 Hemis or $400 haircuts? Can't they shop at Goodwill instead of wearing designer dresses?

Heck, I can't believe the pious Dems really need coins or computers or so many other evil possessions when so many average citizens don't have anything like that in this country.

Like I said, it's alway about money with Republicans. You guys prove me right with every post. There is so much that is more important in life than material possessions but that fact is completely lost on your type. There is nothing wrong with having money but it is more important what you do with it. If you doubt the validity of that statement you have a lot of growing to do but most people come to that conclusion at some point before they die or they live shallow meaningless lives and die alone. The real reward in life is helping others through volunteering you time, your talents, your kindness, and yes even some money now and then. Accusing others of trying to spend your money is the height of paranoia and self-interest. If your only concern is that someone else may decide how, where, when and on what you buy with your money, you've missed the boat because your money is being spent everyday by those that decide how much you pay for everything you buy. You're just too dumb to see it for what it is and rail on the poor so that you have someone to blame. Self-absorbed people get what they deserve in the end.

 

Yeah. We should start paying some taxes in this country. I mean, it is just unconscionable that people don't pay any taxes in this country. It is just not fair that no one has to pay income taxes, sales taxes, self employment taxes, excise taxes, death taxes, medicare taxes, social security taxes, taxes on food, water, gas, investments, and on and on.

The problem with Democrats is not that they don't like possessions. They actually love them. They lust for them. The problem is that they don't like when anyone else has more than they do. When someone else has more than they do, that person is just evil. Even if they pay more in taxes than the Democrat even makes in a year. They just don't think it is fair. And that is the way their candidates manipulate their simple minds while they campaign from their multi-million dollar homes while investing in companies that are foreclosing on their supporter's homes.

 

Simple-minded is lumping everyone from one political party into one stereotype which everyone of you have done except for me.

 

I get the feeling you are on the line of being in poverty. Where in any of these statements do we (Republicans) say we need material possessions? Last I heard the world runs on money and it is something one needs to live the kind of life they choose because we have that freedom to do so. Get a life!

I'm not an investor in coins, I collect them as a hobby and not even for myself but for my kids. I will never sell a coin for profit. If that is your definition of being hypocritical, then I guess I am guilty. At least I collect coins. You've never done anything but spew your bass-ackwards views in this forum. Do you even collect coins or is your presence here just our misfortune?

As far as being on the poverty line myself, it's not like I'm a brain-dead enlistee with no future. The topic of money is boring and unimportant. That is why I have such a hard time having conversations with you Republicans. It's all you think about. The world does not run on money except in your minds.

Coins for the purpose of collecting are a material possession correct? Well, you said "There is so much that is more important in life than material possessions". So, just give them away to charity and stop being a hypocrite. You statements only have meaning for others like Al Gore telling us to get rid of SUV's and owning a dozen and flying around the globe in a private gas sucking jet. If you take the extreme view that any possessions are bad, which I have never taken, you would be correct but I know how much you prefer your own interpretation so You-Go-Girl!

Having a social conscience is a higher ideal as well as caring for the least among us. I don't expect you to understand. We as a country are only as great as the least among us and by helping others you make this country a better place. I know that these are foreign concepts to you when they don't involving killing innocent civilians in foreign countries but try and stay with me anyway. Service isn't a four-year stint in the military and then a long rest on your laurels, it's a life-long commitment which many, many Democrats make and far too few Republicans see value in. Like you said, my statements have no meaning for people like you and I believe that is true beyond doubt. Sad really, you can't take it with you, you know? Hatred is NOT a family value but you'd never know it by listening to the party of family values.

 

I would be interested in seeing statistics on volunteering rates by political affiliation. The only one I could find is one poll that found it was equal between the two parties. I really would be interested if anyone can lead me to some actual data. I think it is an interesting topic...as long as one isn't just talking out their butt with party rhetoric, that is.

 

As I like to say, do your own research. I am comfortable and confident with my statement. Every time I spent too much time finding perfectly credible sources for my arguments, I get one of two responses in return. Either my sources are suspect in their eyes because they don't agree with them or they mock the messenger for wasting their time looking up answers they didn't want to hear in the first place. Exercises in futility I do not need.

It's funny though, after all the points I made, you focus in on one that there isn't likely to be a lot of good data out there on. Who would fund such a divisive study except biased parties looking for data that fit the answer that they already had. Clearly, that kind of survey has only one purpose.

Alas, you guys make me jealous of your position. Maybe if I became a Republican I'd finally have some worthy opponents to argue with.
