Heard about this on the radio...I think it's pretty cool: http://cgi.ebay.com/Original-Harry-...oryZ4105QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
A publicity stunt just like everything he does that amounts to self-promotion. The only problem is that there are those that can't figure out that he is just an entertainer and they take what he says as truth when in fact it's just non-sense. When politicians on either side, and they are both guilty of doing this, i.e. the General Petraeus ad, resort to this type of indignant responses to people just looking for attention, they just encourage more idiots to try and elicit more free publicity and waste time pursuing real issues. I wonder if his charity is the barbiturate addicted radio personalities?
You don't think that Harry Reid's letter was a publicity stunt? the Dems have bashed the US military for years, calling them murderers, rapists, terrorists and tyrants. Then to take out of context a statement, and it was out of context, and it was done on purpose, to try and act Patriotic and support the military was not a political stunt? As with alot of things the Dems do, it backfired. I could have done without the addiction comment, that was just low.
No I don't, it was political theater. You and I both know that there is no monopoly on behavior such as this. The only monopoly occurs when the Right points out that the Left doing it and vice-versa. I can't even pretend that the partisan indignation is at all interesting these days. Well, you're a big boy and so was Rush when he committed the crime and given is rhetoric on drugs smelled of hypocrisy all the way to rehab. Let me ask you something...You don't actually buy that tripe he spews over the airwaves, do you?
I try to catch Rush when possible. He is very entertaining and funny. Has a way of presenting his opinions and political views that I like. Am I a ditto head? NO
It just proves that democrats CANNOT win in the arena of rational, logic, and ideas. So what do they do? They try to get their critics silenced and fired by using the people's time to formulate a stupid letter on a private citizen. This is why they want the "Fairness Doctrine" to silence those that they do not agree with. They know that liberalism is indeed a mental disorder of "gimmee-gimmee-gimmee" at the expense of people that work and produce. They know that when you start asking, "How much more taxes do you want?" and "What makes you think that government is better at running healthcare than those that do it for a living?", their arguments FALL APART! Guys like Rush and others freely admit they are conservative whereas liberals on the mainstream media try to hide behind terms like "progressive" and "fair" when they are nothing of the sort. Face it...if you have a radio show and spout off B.S. for three hours a day, 5 days a week...sooner than later the audience (who really has to listen to the content and arguments at hand) is going to figure out if you make sense or not. This is the reason why Air America (liberal radio) has failed miserably in every market because it doesn't take long to figure out that liberalism has no logic and rational. Face it...you can only cover up B.S. so long until it catches up with you whereas conservatism is based on logic, rational and REAL numbers...somthing liberalism is NOT!
And Republicans try to eliminate the most balanced radio out there by under funding programs like NPR. Because NPR style radio programs aren't screaming idiots and make logical statements.
They're all out for their own best interests. Rush is after the same thing Harry, O'Reilly, Olberman, Matthews, Coulter, and Nancy are. MONEY... They just take different routes to get to this end objective. Some get it from ratings, some get it from listeners, some get it from corruption and kickbacks. FYI, none of this ilk has the overall welfare of the nation as a concern.
If it was nonsense then why is he the most listened to talk-radio host? If it was truly nonsense as you say, Rush would be 6 feet under like your liberal trash Air America! Can you ever say something factual? Of course not, you are a liberal Muhhamed MOEN. You amaze me with every post, and I don't mean the amazing good, I mean the amazing ignorant. And I say ignorant as a compliment.
NPR...the most "balanced" radio?? Oh please...you see, a person like William Buckley will proclaim himself as a conservative whereas people like Bill Moyers, Daniel Schorr, Diane Rehm, Amy Goodman, Juan Williams, Nina Totenberg, Robert Reich, Scott Simon, etc., are too ashamed to tell their viewers who they really are. Look at the shows like David Brancaccio's "NOW" or "Frontline" and the "Washington Week in Review". Are you going to tell me that these programs are NOT liberal? Our tax paying dollars SHOULD be pulled from this garbage no differantly than how the federal government pays for art that nobody would dare depart from their hard earned dollars. If NPR or your local hippie artist can't make it in the real world on their OWN merit without government supported tax dollars...TOUGH! The free market has spoken and the public shouldn't be forced to watch/listen programming or view "art" that couldn't make it in the REAL world.
Rush Limbaugh.....Greatest thing to happen to America since Ronald Reagan. That outta rattle some cages !!!
So you agree that almost half of the soldiers that served in Iraq are phony soldiers? If you've served your country bravely and with courage and honor and disagree with Rush , you're a phony soldier. I hope one those "phony" soldiers takes a large chunk out of ample a$$! Now that would be justice.
No , actually Rush was referring to the several PHONY SOLDIERS that never made it thru bootcamp, then went on to claim purple hearts and things they saw " in combat ", pretty much like John Kerry did when he returned from Viet Nam with a self inflicted wound and a " purple heart". You mean you actually buy into that Dirty Harry letter? It is so easy to find the actual truth and context of what Rush said, but that would not fit your rhetoric, so I imagine you will just trust the drive by media because it sounds good.
Now who is swilling the Kool Aid? I always find it funny how die hard Republicans are the most patriotic Americans on this arm of the Milky Way and support the troops come hell or high water until those very same soldier come home from the war with the truth. Then suddenly those soldiers are traders and Democrats for telling the truth about the war they participated in and the Republican elite try to sweep them under the rug. It's an old story that gets repeated after every war. Once the war ends, those very same soldiers get funding cut after funding cut via their friends the Republicans. PTS is denied, the effect of agent orange are denied, and they are put on the streets as Reagan did to the Vietnam Vets with psych problems. Ahhhh! The party of hypocrisy.
