The tepid response from House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was that if convicted, Gaetz should resign. What a farce. How many Republicans called Cuomo out and said he should resign along with the Democrats who were also calling for Cuomo to resign? Many! How many Republicans are silent on Gaetz? Yeah. That is just their latest hypocrisy.
The pattern doesn't surprise me. The fact that anyone with at least 2 brain cells would support this kind of blatant corruption is a bit unbelievable.
If it is true that the FBI indeed wired Gaetz in an investigation into extortion by his accuser, which the FBI is curiously mum about this at present, it seems there may be ample reason not to cast aspersions just yet. Moreover, we’re not talking about a pattern of behavior as evidenced by so many accusers in the Cuomo case. It seems Cuomo is in the running with DeShaun Watson for scoundrel of the year, although the accusers in the Watson case seem far less credible.
There's so many in the Watson case though... On a football note, I've been really sad to this happen given how talented he is. His career is likely over.
Yeah, but we are not them. It's the difference between having values and only pretending to have values. Democrats will run you out of the party if you act like a Repubican.
Yeah . . . refuse to waste the People's hard earned tax dollars and you'll be excommunicated from the Democratic Party.
I know it's off topic but since Democrats seem to do nothing but waste taxpayer money I have a question. Should taxpayer money be wasted on infrastructure?
why is it called a "waste" when we spend money on ourselves, but not when we spend it on a huge military?
Republicans believe that if you're spending trillions on military hardware, giveaways to corporations, and tax breaks to wealthy donors, you're not actually spending "people's hard earned " tax dollars. However, if you put money into health care, infrastructure, education, and social programs, well then you're wasting people's hard earned tax dollars. It's almost as if you dare spend tax money on the people, they see it as wasting money. The top 50% of wager earners pay almost all of the income tax in this country. The bottom 50% pay around 3% of the income tax. However, there are many other taxes that all wage earners pay that aren't income taxes. So in reality, while we give the low income earners a tax break on their income, they are still forced to pay sales tax, property tax, licensing tax, and a billion other types of taxes. Now someone might make the argument that those who pay the most in taxes should get to decide what is done with the taxes we pay. If that were only true. It isn't the top 50% that decide what we spend our taxes on. It is the top 1% that decide. If it were the top 50%, we would have a much more equitable tax spending structure than the one we currently have that spends our tax money on the very interests that are the 1%.
