    These people are playing a dangerous game. The Electoral College (or Electorial College as @JoeNation calls it) was established for very good reasons. Abolishing or side-stepping it will cause disastrous consequences.

    The agreement doesn't go into effect until State membership accounts for 270 electoral votes. Once they reach the 270 goal; I wonder what happens there forward if membership ever falls below the mark.

    LOL @ disastrous consequences .... like what for instance? the low population states lose their disproportionate influence advantage? the power shifts to the populous majority? More Americans become better represented? the horror!!!

    I guess you forget that both the people and the states are represented proportionately, not merely the people.

    Better represented... by whom? The coastal majorities who are predominantly blue? Spread the wealth, man! I don't believe the entire country is well-represented by a few states who have disproportionately large populations. Thankfully, the Founding Fathers believed the same and created the Electoral College in order to give a voice to less-populated states.

    Look child, The minority in this country - you among them - control it by hook or crook. Those doing the hard work to control the ignorant snowflakes are aided by a Marxist Press. Our voting system was devised by intelligent men. It worked pretty good up until you were born. That's when the enemies of America started to corrupt the system in every state they could. Election Day has become Election Month and anyone with a driver's license (handed out to illegals) can vote in many states. What they vote for goes against my wishes and my only consolations are that I will be dead a little after my country is destroyed physically and economically and your ilk will know REAL SUFFERING! LOL.

    Take solace, knowing that the liberal's victories will be fleeting ones, for while we conservatives may not again be victorious (don't you worry - I'll do my part), they surely will suffer the inability of their changes to sustain them.

    I agree, we need the peeps. The founders counted on MORAL, CITIZEN PEEPS who were informed by a National Press acting as a watchdog. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. The National press is a pack of lying Marxists and virtually anyone (including ignorant lawful citizens) can cast voteS.

    Historically or present day? Slavery started out thousands of years ago before “states”.
    No people? Well according to imbeciles on the left that would mean no climate change.

    The very reason a One-World government cannot possibly succeed . . . regional needs varying so considerably, preventing a one-size-fits-all solution from meeting all needs. . . is the reason our United States are intended to be the primary governing structures in this nation, and the federal government is intended only to resolve disputes between them, and with other nations.

    Central governments are not effective governing entities . . . They are power centers.

    Just some thoughts on this, I've been seeing chatter from pollsters about how the electoral college has been slowly moving towards favoring Democrats, and it's not inconceivable we could soon see an election where they win the college but lose the popular vote. When/if that happens, I will still support abolishing the electoral college.

    For a singular leader like president, I think majority rule makes the most sense. The best place that state interests are balanced is the Senate, where they all have equal say.
