Let's just get some stuff on record. Which campaign promise policies specifically are you most looking forward to seeing implemented? I doubt he will actually go through with it, but he talked frequently about a massive tariff plan. I'm (morbidly) interested to see how that goes down.
As I recall, some tariffs would be broadly applicable to imports of all types, regardless of origin, while others would be origin-targeted, and have "ifs" attached to them . . . conditions to be met by those originating nations if they wished to avoid those target tariffs.
Doubt it'll materialize. My prediction is that the economy was already headed in the right direction, Trump will do nothing tangible, and then claim credit when things continue to improve. Can I take it then as the tariffs are what you're most looking forward to?
I look forward to your eventual analysis of exactly which policies Trump enacts "right the ship" and how exactly they changed from previous trajectories.
Since it comes beforehand chronologically, why don’t you first school us as to how the economy was already headed in the right direction?
Inflation way down, markets already at all time highs, GDP growth sustained and rising, u.s. dollar strength continuing to rise, low unemployment coupled with rising workforce participation rate, falling gdp to debt ratio. All of these are documented improvements and have expected trajectories. Over the coming years I'm hoping you'll be able to point to specific policies that change the course of their trajectory.
That little blip of a correction back to the trajectory of the past few years? Ignoring covid, 57% growth since pre-covid Trump should be something you celebrate, if that's actually a metric that matters to you
What an ignorant question. PUT BACK IN PLACE EVERYTHING BIDEN GOT RID OF and then ship every alien invader and gang member on to a huge ocean liner and torpedo it in the middle of the ocean! Clear enough?
Ever heard of an abused partner that has become numb to the abuse? That is how I feel with my government. The snippet below was a piece of this week’s informational email from my lawyers office. Just another overreach of the Fed. If Trump can make a crack in this regulatory mountain I have to deal with day in and day out, I will be happy and satisfied. If you have 20 or fewer full-time employees and $5 million or less in gross receipts or sales, you need to know that a new federal law will require you to submit additional reports containing confidential personal information about you and your small business. Failure to report could result in criminal penalties of up to 2 years in prison and civil penalties of $500 per day, up to $10,000.
That appears to be referring to the corporate transparency act. The section you're referring to you've had 4 years to prepare for because it went into effect under Trump. It was one of the last things his administration passed. You can thank him for that one Your abused partner analogy may be more apt than you initially realized
This List is what will now occur, NOT an expectation of what may occur: PC BS IS HEREBY CANCELLED. THE WORDS RACIST/SEXIST/MYSOGYNIST AS A DESCRIPTION OF PEOPLE THAT DON'T AGREE WIRTH YOU ARE HEREBY CANCELLED. FREE STUFF IS HEREBY CANCELLED. THIS LIST IS SUBJECT TO EXPANSION UPON REVIEW OF THE EDUCATION SYSTEM AND BANKING SYSTEM AND HEALTHCARE SYSTEM BY THE INCOMING ADMINISTRATION. SIGNED: WE THE PEOPLE OF THIS FEDERAL REPUBLIC. Look.... We are a nation regulated absolutely to death. I can remember seat belts being a purchase option on a new car. Now I have inside emergency latches mandated for my truck toolbox. We are regulated from the cars we drive to the straws we use for our fountain drinks.... We have reached the level of regulatory absurdity. Heck, I lied about my age to join the Army so I could be free to make my own way only to have the Fed nosing into all aspects of my life.... Trump has promised to reduce the level of government interference in our lives and I plan to hold him to that promise.
so you tried to escape the fed, by taking a job with the fed where they quite literally control every facet of your life? I'm just gonna post this for the thread because it seems pretty relevant
No... I was escaping restrictions placed on me by my mother. Whole point being, regulating me is bondage and being American is the antithesis of bondage.
Contrary to what you blindly believe (don't believe all of the pretty, self-serving government published charts), and independent of what Trump can do to rectify the below, you can at least glimpse the sorry facts: Our trade imbalance is killing us The GDP has lost so much ground to inflation that the politically motivated statistics are misleading Our burgeoning national debt of $36T (and rising) Excessive cost of servicing the national debt (highest in 2 decades). Concerted global effort at de-Dollarization (thanks for weaponizing the USD Jobie) weakening the USD Fed-induced life-support of the USD (directly related to increasing cost of borrowing) Net loss of skilled manufacturing jobs, replaced with unskilled service jobs (falling standard of living) An outsized COVID-accelerated exodus of seasoned workers replaced by coffee-spillers-in-training Record multiples of capitalized companies showing profits from cutting expenses instead of growing There's nothing pretty to look at here, and I do mean nothing . . .
