I like how in that article, even if you take its representation at face value, it only amounts to whataboutisms and never tries to defend Gaetz and co. No urgency or inclination to be better than Democrats, just: "they're bad so we can be bad too"
Every president gets to put forth who he wants in his cabinet and Trump is no different. There are some members in Biden's cabinet that I think are egregious, but who cares? Honestly, I don't give a rat's ass that any Trump cabinet member selection upsets the democrats. In fact, that's probably a GOOD thing.
The article addresses the fact that the left was totally cool with these people and the fact they obviously considered these individuals as “qualified”. It shows the hypocrisy, stupidity, and arrogance of the Democrat party. Why in the hell would anyone take the opinion of the left about Trumps appointees seriously? Now, please pick someone that Trump appointed and tell us why they are unqualified.
Do you SERIOUSLY think Gaetz will be confirmed? HELL NO! Multiple sitting Republican senators, anonymously, have stated that this will absolutely not happen and that a LOT of Republicans will not go for it. It's just a way to save face, both for the party and Gaetz himself (probably because he was so loyal to Trump, which I really don't like.) No shot he gets confirmed. Unless the Democrats collude to get him through by a thin margin. No one wants him in there.
You overlook one possibility . . . Democrats would love to confirm Gaetz if it means they get another shot in special elections to fill seats vacated by corrupt Republicans. Since Republicans have the numbers, the odds are with the Democrats.
I, for one, would like to see Gaetz confirmed by the skin of his teeth, then investigate and squeeze the bad blood out of Congress, and then be squeezed out of DC himself. We need a good purging, and he's the perfect guy to remove others and then himself.
Look... Plain and simple. The team that works for POTUS elect is the team he feels can carry out his agenda. I am not a Gaetz fan but that has no bearing on what works for Trump. We handed him a mandate to accomplish the vision he has set forth so we have to let him build the team that works for him.
Allow me to just address that for you…. The vast majority of voting Americans don’t have the luxury of worrying about their pronouns or how equitable their neighbors are. They see their cost of living becoming untenable while they work tirelessly to keep food on the table. The average voting American only wants to be able to buy their kid a new ball glove at the end of the day. In short, he wants normalcy restored to his life. Yes this is a mandate to normalcy.
The only Republican to ever receive over 76 million votes. A sweep of all 7 swing states. A tightening of the divide in states like California and New Jersey. A tremendous increase in votes from women, African-Americans and Latinos. Keeping the House and gaining the Senate. Yeah, that's a mandate.
Well, you said it yourself. His victory was on ALL fronts. Not just women. Not just African-Americans. Not just men. Not just Latinos. But, ALL of them. That, in itself, is quite remarkable and is indicative of a mandate. Add winning the popular vote, an overwhelming majority of electoral votes, a sweep of all swing states, maintaining the House and gaining the Senate and you have a bona fide mandate.
Think about the Pro-choice problem Democrats face four years from now. By that time most if not all blue states will have enshrined the right of abortion into State law thus marginalizing the issue on the national level.
