Starting a new thread to catalogue the devastation being done to science in the U.S.

Scientific research is one of the few things the U.S. does really well and this administration is tossing it in the fire for no good reason.

Starting with this recent piece on banning contract renewals for Senior Scientists.

I don't see anyone racing to do an ROI for the nation, let alone having proven the worth of the programs to The People long before their jobs were threatened.

Suddenly, it's seen as a crisis, but we have no basis for believing that . . . other than being told by liberals that we can't live without them.

 

They do perform ROIs, not that the government needs to make money in every sector.

What the hell do liberals know about science?

They think men can become women.

 

They don't think that's science, OKC . . . they think it's a right!

 

When a bloated government facilitates underproductive departments siphoning the resources of the nation, It Sure As Hell needs to show a return, be it monetary, or of other substantial benefit. If the output is demonstrably less than the input, then get the federal government's hands out of it and leave it to local control!

 

And I am quite confident that good science will soon be refinanced. But like so many others, I am a bit tired of watching the shrimp on a treadmill. Point being there is tons of faux science going on at my expense. And last time I read the constitution, Congress was not ordained with the power of national bankruptcy.

 

What do you mean "faux science?" I assure you, these funding opportunities are extremely competitive. Also, refinanced by who?

Can I actually see these studies or grants? Or am I just supposed to believe them when they go (paraphrasing) "really bro, seriously, it's happening"

Well... Thing is, most of us have had our credit cards hijacked at one point or another. It's happened to me three times over the years. You immediately close that account in response. That means all the good things you pay automatically with that card are also stopped until you get a new card. It's a pain...... You can argue the fine points of any of the uncovered fraud and abuse cases individually but fact is, Musk has uncovered mountains of fraud and abuse. Nobody can deny that. Musk and Trump are simply changing the credit card.

 

I literally can deny it. I do deny it. Can you produce evidence to back your claim?

 

No. I have work to do and it has become glaringly apparent that common sense holds no water to folks that hold the liberal ideology. The display I witnessed last night makes it no longer worth the trouble anyway.

 

I see no difference from before, most of you have never tried to make evidenced claims. You and toughcoins specifically have had your moments, to give credit where it's due, but I can't just accept "it is because they say it is"

That is one of the things I thought it was. There's nothing wrong with that study though. It's not "making mice transgender" it's studying hormone administration effects.

 

So what is your definition of transgender medical treatment?
