I think everyone has figured out that this presidency is going to be a total failure and will leave this country in ruins when it is done. Therefor, everyone is too depressed to post. Either that or they are too busy buying ammo and land out west somewhere to ride out the coming collapse of civilization.

    ;)

Now that's pretty funny SJ. And Heck I thought David had died or something.

Jack put it out earlier when I decided to get in a little tussle with CoinFreak. Sheeshh - he's like 12 so was I bored?
I even miss Isaiah and a bunch of other idiots because it's so boring.

So I'll answer your post. What the hell.
Yes, EVERYONE has figured out that this Presidency is a TOTAL failure. David knew it before it even happened. 5 weeks of a four year term is MORE than enough indicition of that.

Depression. Of course there's depression. Those that have not had still don't because they are NOT getting it fast enough from those that do. This is yet another example of our failed Presidency.
Those that have are still paranoid about what they do have and how they will forcibly lose it. Another sign of a failed Presidency.

Finally, buy the ammo and move West young man! Everyone will be armed and dangerous. Fighting over food, gold etc. Just like the old days. Meanwhile the east will die a slow and horrible death.

Yep, we're all gonna die! How depressing!

Sorry guys, new job is just taking up all my time & energy!
I started to post "I told you so..." but what Obama is doing to our country goes waaayyyy beyond a joking matter. Everyone who voted for him, apologized for him or defended him is complicit. We -you- saw it coming! He is proving himself to be exactly what he denied being & exactly what his supporters said we were paranoid for accussing him of.

By the way, what is "GF"...I guess I'm not up on the kids shorthand these days.

I know. ;) But I knew it would at least spark a reply or two. lol

In reality, I have no idea why things have ground to such a halt here. But they certainly have. Boring is one word. Totally dead is probably more accurate.

And, no, I am almost certainly not moving west. Looks more like I will moving a bit north at this point. Although a couple of hours south is still a possibility. We'll see how the whole 'retired military' thing plays out over the next couple of months as I enjoy a little time off and try to figure out where I want to work for the next stage of my life.

But, have no fear, moving isn't because I want to buy more ammo and live in a Una Bomber cabin. Although I almost did apply to a job in Wyoming. :D

    David,

Nice to see you here dude. No really as it has been EXTREMELY boring.

Now I'm "complicit". Cool! Five weeks into the "failed" adminstration and I'm complicit.

You are absolutely right on one point David. This is waaaay beyond a joking matter. In case you hadn't noticed BEFORE Obama took office our economy was and is in shambles.
Naturally the Clinton administration is to blame. Doesn't matter that Bush had 8 years to "fix" it does it. I'm not saying Clinton did a great job - he didn't but can anyone tell me what in the hell Bush did to fix it?

Now Obama has walked into a virtual hell hole hasn't he. Five weeks in and your hatred (based on your amazing insight) grows. Anything he does is wrong but can you, or anyone, tell me what's been done right in the years leading up to this?

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Problem is that it's really broke and needs to be fixed. No one has figured it out yet so we should just go to hell as a country because a President is looking at ways to "possibly" fix it?

I guess we should just throw in the towel as a nation and let things run their course. It's always worked before hasn't it?
Only problem is things aren't working and they won't fix themselves.

Those "complicit" with Obama are not just a bunch of rubes man. One can cry ACORN, Jeremy Wright etc.. until blue in the face. That just doesn't get it.
Obama won. He kicked McCains ancient butt. He kicked McCains butt because people are fed up. Honest, hard working people - not just the Rush Limbaugh version of cheaters and uninformed voters. Sadly, those that subscribe to this view are too narrow to realize they defeated themselves.

I am not a socialist nor am a whacked out, frothing at the mouth liberal when you get down to it.
I see things as they are and as many refuse to see them. People are losing homes at record rates as well as their jobs.

Would a Republican President be any better right now? If so please explain and sorry Ron Paul never had a chance hence my NOT voting for him.

People are screaming about gun rights. Cripes I hear it all day and don't see it happening. You know Democrats own guns too.
Consider this scenario if you all would. We get a new President in office and he continues to blindly follow the same course. No hope at all but we have guns.
How long before enough hard working people that have lost EVERYTHING take to the streets? Desperate times call for desperate measures.

We are, and have been, a lot closer than most people think.

Alright. I'll stop back for a visit. :D

Clembo: What was wrong with the economy during the Bush administration!? As late as May 2008, the dow was cruising along at over 13,000. The housing bubble hadn't completely burst yet. Just because the last 6 months went down hill you want to peg a bad economy on Bush for 8 years?
Lets rewind back to late 2004. Let's see what kind of insight these wonderful democrat saviors, had on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Here was at least one opportunity to put one fire out before it got out of control. Late 2004!! This one's an eye opener to say the least. Watch the whole thing.

Now I know you'll try to come up with some tired, worn out reason to blame Bush for that fiasco, but quite frankly, a bunch of dems make total fools of themselves in that video! Thank God for youtube, eh?

As far as Obama stepping to a hell hole..... when the campaign got into full swing early last year, the economy wasn't even an after thought. This is something that has come up during his term. We could trace underlying causes back 50 years if you want to. It's not going to address what we do moving forward and is actually childish.

Gun rights? Do you see how rapidly things are happening under Obama? Do you see how fast the stimulus was rammed through with health care provisions snuck in at the last minute? He's passed a wreckless, spending free for all in record time for a budget. What will happen with Iraq for the next two years is done. National health care is next on the list and will probably be done in less than a month.

Things were meant to happen slowly in government so people would have time to review and think. That's all out the window now. Now they can cram anything they want down our throats.

If you think for a second, they aren't going to pass some insane gun legislation, you're just being naieve and careless. It's coming in one way, shape or form. And just because a new gun ban doesn't ban something that you personally own, doesn't mean the American people win or that's it's something that's good. The fact that they even need to be discussing it, in the midst of the crisis we're in, should tell you a lot. Something is wrong with this picture. What's the reasoning behind it?

The reasoning is, these a-holes in power have dreamed of this moment. They're relishing this power. They realize they have plenty of time to ram everything we don't want through. All the American public is worried about are jobs! Everything else they do gets a free pass!!

We aren't even near desperate times yet. How many unemployed people still have the internet!? We've got a long ways to go before it gets that desperate. And if people take to the streets, the government has 20k troops on call back home for crowd control and civil unrest. Probably in anticipation of what we could be heading into.

No. Things wouldn't be better with a republican president right now. We'd still have an economy in crisis. But maybe, if they were a real conservative, we wouldn't have blown trillions of dollars on a gamble so quickly on top of it all.
Most of what is in the bill is not going to put food on your table. It's not going to pay your mortgage. You will get a tiny tax break (that for now appears you will be taxed on the income on this one), spread out over a period of time so you will barely even notice it. Nobody's going to hire because they got an extra $500 in their pocket over the course of 6 months.

    vess1 "Birds of a feather...."

Maybe you're not but you may as well be since you support one and everything that comes with the total package.

Who's refusing to see things as they are? I know people are losing homes at record rates. A lot of them should be. If you signed a document without realizing what an ARM is, you deserve whatever is happening right now. If you own 3 homes and now you lost on your extra investments, that's too bad.

What we have right now, has been set up for decades. This was the end game and many people saw it coming for a long time. Our industry is gone. We continue to elect politicians who believe globalization is the best thing since sliced bread. Now people wish they had some bread to slice.

Businesses can't compete with third world countries or an up and coming China. This can't be blamed on a president. This is the times we live in. Times were great when Japan and China were nothing. We were the focal point. Now we're not. Eventually things will have to average out. They're going to continue to grow and prosper and we will decline until it averages out. Not a bright future for most Americans.

Anybody that thinks every American has a chance to succeed in the next 100 years is dilusional. There will be winners and guaranteed there will be losers. It won't be decided by much more than circumstances, will power and luck. But not everybody can win. It's that simple.

Perpetual, unending growth is a pipe dream. Eventually, you just don't need anymore houses built. Eventually you don't need anymore bankers. Eventually you will have a surplus of people in the medical field and a bunch of people who cannot pay their bills to it.
Eventually, every job that can be outsourced, will be outsourced, regardless of party in power so that the rich can survive. It's just a fact of the times you live in. I don't need a scapegoat.

HOOOOOOWEEEE boys looks like things might come alive again!

    Good to see you Vess!

Now can I ask you this. You make a "guest appearance" after I post something that stokes the flames it appears. So you've been lurking.
No problem there buddy I lurk at times too.

What really astounds me is how guys like you have not been present at all. You can respond to me if I say something that offends you with all of your facts yet you can't post them on your own?

Why must you be prodded to tell your "truth"? Enquiring minds want to know.
What's up with that? Where HAVE you been?

    ...and I don't Jack.

Some points may be valid, others are hogwash but the real gist is HEY we're all arguing again!

David started it. Nice job David.
Stu Joe put a flame in it.
    I figured what the hell.
    David fanned the flames.

Now we're back at it! That's cool as we've all gone at it before but I REALLY do have to ask.

Where has the attacking right, "we know everything" minions of this forum disappeared to? Seems if Obama is so DAMN bad (after 5 weeks) I'd be tired of hearing about it by now.
Sheeeetts - all I hear is crickets chirping when I come here.

Pre election I was backing Obama and CONSTANTLY catching hell for it. Now he's won and the shoe is on the other foot even though I am STILL the minority here.

    Where's the fire y'all?

LOL, We back at it, right on;)

Yeah, I think O is bad, BUT, I will not suffer from Obama derangment syndrome for a minimum of 4 years. I will simply adjust my lifestyle and prepare for Jimmy Carter on steroids, lol.

See that Dan? I have learned to play nice:D

What I find quite strange is no comments on his plans to bolster troop numbers in Afghanistan! or that the troop withdrawl from Iraq will not be a total withdrawl but staged over 2 years+ :D Or his refusal to stop the use of drones over Pakistan until they get the militants on that side of the border under control.
Not a word on his £360,000 cap on executive pay at companies that come to the government for a bailout.
Now as for Health care he isnt hiding it, he is asking for 634 billion dollars over 10 years to finance reforms to make health coverage affordable and move the country toward universal coverage (again he said he intended to do it so it is not like it is a suprise now is it LOL)

On a slightly different note I see another of Sadams bully boys has been sentenced to death, this time for the third time LOL
"An Iraqi court on Monday condemned Saddam Hussein's notorious henchman "Chemical Ali" Hassan al-Majid to his third death sentence in a case involving the murder of Shiites in 1999"
"former deputy prime minister Tareq Aziz aquitted on the same charges of crimes against humanity"

I think we should bomb the mountain range between Afghanistan and Pakistan until it is a canyon. But, I think we are wasting our time staying in Afghanistan. We should pull out and scorch the place as we go.
