I find it quite annoying that alot of people in this country want to hear from the president on every issue that hits the news. And then come out and say that he is on or in the news way too much. When should the president comment on an act or issue?
I don't know a hard and fast line. I think he needs to comment on an attempted terrorist attack where there was a pretty obvious breakdown in the system. I don't think he needs to comment on Tiger Woods, American Idol or a sporting event. Not to say he has...just that he doesn't need to.
Just on issues of national security. We have the left wing media to spill all the other garbage (tiger, brittany, the global warming hoax, etc, etc.)
Was it really our system? I mean no one in America where he is the president let this guy on the plane. He boarded in another country. I dont know if they have different rules regarding passengers. Do you? Are they the same? And there too. Does he need to comment on another countrys flaws?
Right. Like Brit Hume commenting on Wood's religion? Does Brit Hume work for the left wing media? Glad you could stay on track.
Some friends of mine flew into New York on the 27th of December from Heathrow/London this end they were physicaly serched in individual cubicals all hand baggage searched yet on the return leg at New York on the 31 Dec they just went through normal scanners no body search no checking of the hand luggage (Other than a scan)!!
Actually that IS quite disturbing. Seems everything was done on the way in but NOT on the way out. I wonder if there were an Brits or Americans headed back to Heathrow?
I have a feeling that for countries that send planes into our country that we probably make the rules for them. And if we don't, I think that is a failure in our system.
I think the President should address smoking guns like 911, corporate corruption, and prosecuting war criminals.
...and chasing wind mills, looking for Big Foot, talking to space aliens, keeping the sky from falling....
How bout addressing: ever rising unemployment...government jobs aint goin to get it....the devaluing dollar...hint, printing more is not the answer. Rising energy costs..oh sorry he did address that..."under cap and trade electric rates will necessarily skyrocket".
You really are afraid. you must be scared to death. Something almost happens and you panic. Do you really need the President to tell you all is calm. I know you are aware that Bush released an al-queda suspect from Gitmo in 2007 so the guy could help his family build furniture. You know where that guy is now? Yup. al-queda. Is that keeping us safe? You wroite the same crap when Air force One flew around lower Manhattan. I dont think the President needs to reassure 'fradey cats' on catastrophes that never happened.
If you would increase your medication David, maybe Bigfoot and space aliens would leave you alone. Just a suggestion.
Hey, what do Willie Nelson and Cheech & Chong have to say on the subject? Since you consider them such credible sources, I would like to know what they think.
I realize you simply sit back & wait for the govn't to come to you, to run your life but I do not agree with that philosphy. I want to know what is happening around me so I can do something about it. It's called being proactive, by the way. If there's a major imminent threat, I want to know about it so that I can prepare for it. Sound paranoid? Well, the terrorist are threatening action & we are trying to defend against it so I guess paranoia wouldn't really be the word for it, huh? You choose to (or hope) to ignore what is happening around you, I do not. If there's a fire coming my way I won't wait for someone to tell me to evacuate, by then it's probably too late. Expecting Harry Reid to protect you isn't a choice I would make for myself.
So now you want your President to broadcast what the security services are doing to combat Terrorists so that you can be prepare for it? isnt that like giving the Terrorists a blueprint of future actions! Any way I thought you got regular alerts as to the threat level on your news channels daily?
Thats not being proactive. And what now? You want the president to comment on threats? Really? You are pissed 'cause Obama took three days to comment on the terrorist on the plane on Christmas. And the way you are explaining it now, you want him to comment before anything happens. Thats weird. Prepare for what? You gonna crouch under a doorway? Duct tape the windows? Prepare. Haha. There a big uranium mine under your house that al-queda might want? I didnt say paranoid you did. but yea it is paranoid. Terrorists always threaten action, or didnt you hear? You mean ''we'' as a nation right? Not you and other non-combatants. I dont ignore what goes on. But I'm not gonna live in fear like you. Oh and by the way; imminent means threat. and the Harry Reid comment is something I'd expect from Midas. But I guess birds of a feather.....
