But by Tom's (and probably Moen's) logic, they (and you) were all just too greedy and that is a mortal sin. You know - "From each according to his abilities....."

I'm telling you, if some moron can make $$$ selling hotsauce in Arizona, that is like some moron selling icecubes to Eskimos.......

You have to want it. Dream it, sleep it. breath it. Take your hobby and get it done.

Do it. It is possible. And you do not have to be evil to achieve succes.

I am not disagreeing with you, Jack. Not one bit. It is just that is not the way those 2 think. I would like to know what this country would turn into if no one wanted to make any money.

Sorry yer a slacker bud.... You did it to yourself. Wallow in misery, woe is me......

Well....whatever worked for you Jack, surely must work for everybody. I take some pleasure in pointing out the hypocrisy and stacked deck playing field in today's ludicrous society that we all have to live in. I'm hateful too. I am a product of the sick environment I was subjected to for most of my life. I'll guarantee you though that my hateful attitude helps keep me from being blindsided by ANYTHING or anybody. For every one decent person there is in the corporate world today, there are 25 more waiting to
walk, urinate and spit on your decomposing body if there's a dime to be made from it. I'm too old and too distrusting and cynical to benefit from a "fresh" outlook, and I think as a society, we're long since past any hope for fixing it now anyway, so, I'll just keep pointing out the more obvious crimes of hypocrisy and greed (like 911...remember 911 Jack? The biggest, boldest and best performed and successf crime in modern history?) as best I can in the slim and fading hopes that my son will be a little more aware of the b*llsh*t being peddled by the leeches that are around in his future...assuming there is a world still around when he needs it.

I thought greed was a mortal sin. Money is great. Who doesnt like it? But when is enough? Never? I dont feel that way. And I dont think one needs to exploit others to achieve success. I'm satisfied with what I've got. Or even what I will have. Put my son through school, have a few homes. Can go anywhere I choose. No worries about retirement. And thats suits me fine. I earned it. Theres no need to want more more more.

OK! Just who "exploit others"? Company A profits 30+¢ per dollar sales, Company B profits ~5¢ per dollar sales, or Company C that over pays the best in the nation.

  11. tomcorona

    tomcorona Anti republican truther

More realistically.....Company A's profit margin times 1000 per dollar spent, first quarter.
Second quarter profits increased 200 fold by "workforce reduction" plans and reducing costs through disappearing worker benefits. Company B operating at below profit margin, actually losing money but hoping to outlast Company A's supplier bullying tactics and cutthroat manipulation practices. Company C has been log gone since being consumed by Company A.
Company A's third quarter profits quadruple via Wall street insider trading splits. Company B raises it's prices in a vain effort to stop the bleeding, but further suffers hardship because prices are so high and people are so poor, everybody now has to go to company A because of it's mafia style corporate tactics. Fourth quarter profits quadruple again (not really but that's what the books have been made to reflect). CEO receives 2 billions dollar "bonus" with billions more in stock options for his "brilliant business saavy". Company B announces it is going out of business and is consumed by Company A for pennies on the dollar. Company B's employees are forced to now work for Company A (part time only at reduced wages).
Finally...Company A, now with ultra low operating expenses and no competition, and gazillions in profit, raise prices higher than ever before, announces wage freezes and job cuts after confiscating Company B, gets a new CEO with a "vision" to increase profit for the upcoming fiscal year. Wall street loves company A. Hundreds of gazillions change hands upward. Champagne sales triple. Unemployment goes to 25 percent. Republicans purchase their way into office and institute major tax cuts for the top 3 percent of income "recipients", chop minimum wage to half it's previous state, social security disappears after it is privatized by the right wing. Hundred of new billionaires are generated from the lowly millionaires. Republicans start running for the next term promising to abolish low income housing, food stamps, and the hourly wage, further promising to make everyone "salaried" with a minimum of 80 hours per week (at a rate to be determined by the employer). Wall street goes mad. Republican led government claim victory and bomb 4 new "brown" countries off the map, bring back the draft (now beginning at age 14). Company B's empty building now houses 27 million "lazy bast*rds. Jeb Bush is now installed as President. The city of New York is blown up via an attack of helium balloons while the military is "conducting simulations" of major cities being blown up, half then ordered to stand down, the other half ordered to fly the wrong way out over the ocean. Balloon attacks lasts for days as the military is unable to respond while President Jeb Bush reads from an upside down book to toddlers from a daycare somewhere in northern New Jersey for several hours before being "whisked away" to a safer location.
Sarah Palin shoots a moose. Wall street again rumbles to a new high as "put options" are cashed in. Company A's prices triple.

And we wonder why BO's message of entitlements went over so well? Tomc is the epitome of the "everyone owes me" mentality that the libs propagate & feed on....and he doesn't even realize it!
Me, Jack & others have given our testimony to tomc about how one can from a less than privileged background & still achieve what we want as long as you are willing to sacrifice, make tough decisons and work harder than the next guy. Jack's post was very eloquent yet you all saw how quickly tom dismissed it. Simple case where tomc would have to argue with Jack's post or admit to himself that he's a loser and he's the person to blame for his own miserable existence

The problem, craig, is that people like tom & dr moen want the government to determine when you have enough. Since everyone has different goals, "enough" will vary from household to household. People aren't wrong when they differ about how much is "enough", they are just that- different. Personally, we love to travel as family. I may need "more" than the next folks next door who could care less about travelling. Yet, the family across the street may need even more than I do because they have different pursuits.

Jack's post was something other than what you portray it to be I am sure. As for your supposed "less than privileged" background, I know it ain't nowhere close to what I endured over the years.
You epitomize your party's warped thought patterns very well yourself. I'm sure you're proud.

I ask what the company's status is and you try to predict the future of Sarah Palin based on your paranoid beliefs!?!?!?! If that is your logic, have fun playing by yourself.

Wait a sec. You were the one who said A measure of success is exploiting others. I asked if thats what you meant. You confirmed it.

I'm not talking about earning more to fufill a fundemental desire. Now you know there is greed in this country. Some people thrive on it. I'm talking about making money at any cost. I live well. I've been lucky. But I'm not so arrogant to think that only I should do so well.

Need? Perhaps not but if someone is willing to work a little harder, a little longer to ge what they want, why should it me my business, your business or the governments business?

This is what you said. What do you thgink it reads? You never worked hard enough to become one of the exploiters. Isnt that to mean he never achieved the status to abuse workers for his own gain? And then you said this.....It is A mark of success. I am not sure there is one THE mark of success And finally....................... Originally Posted by craig a
