Well I am a european and I have said from day 1 I woudnt vote for him and I know many others who agree with me and we are not right wing zelots either LOL

What is an N?

 

N is the number of observations or participants in a statistical sample. The small n is a subset of the large N that actually yielded data. In other words, if I asked 40 people if they liked ice cream and 36 people told me yes or no, my N would be 40 but my n would be 36.

All I was saying was that one observation and a couple of my cousin's half brother's girlfriend's father's neighbor's co-worker's daughter....etc. do not really merit much support for Steve's argument while 80% plus of the citizen's of several European counties that do like Obama seem just a bit more significant. Sorry Steve, you'll have to prop up your positon with a little more than that next time.

 

I think there is a difference between liking a public figure and being happy with the way they are governing you. Any poll numbers in Europe can only reflect the former.

That would be an unfortunate problem for those who most likely lack knowledge in many areas including statistics I suppose. Can't do much about uninformed perceptions. Above my paygrade.

 

Sorry but I was simply pointing out that NOT EVERYBODY in europe actualy supports or even likes President Obama, Nor are those who dislike him Simply right wing zelots in the same way that we do not wish secretly or otherwise to be communist LOL I made no claims to numbers or anything like a % so I honestly do not see what I need to back up? (it was a simple statement of fact)
I would sugest that the author of that claim takes a moment or two and reflects upon the stupidity of it after all we have had ample oppertunity to vote in a communist goverment the same as the majority of western europe and havn't!! (Nearest has been Italy)

 

Oh and your 80% is in actual fact a projection and not a reality (Yes I understand stats and how polls are conducted LOL) Can you tell me the actual number who were contacted and asked for a opinion?

 

Watch rlm's silly O'Reilly/Morris video. They quote the 80 plus percent number. I don't remember the countries other than Italy but I believe that some of the popularity of Obama overseas is a reaction to hating George Bush so much. Europeans really hated George Bush in large numbers.

The only one quoted was Italy at 84%. The other fact quoted was that about 40 of Italy votes communist which I cannot validate.

 

BTW, Moen got it right and you still have it wrong. Maybe it is just you eyes, but can't you see the difference?

 

As most threads do, we have wandered off on a tangent. I have yet still to be proven wrong. Across the board tax cuts DO add revenue.

They are proberly close with the % on voting comunist in Italy but they dont see it in quite the same way as most of eastern europe did LOL they are after all Italian and enjoy there comfort

 

I think that I have already offered opinions that contradict this idea. The problem is that once you give a tax cut, the effects, good or bad, tend to be down the road aways which of course are hard to tie back to the orginal tax cut. One thing that is indisputable is that tax cuts increase the deficit. Do we really need that right now? Targeted tax cuts are a much better idea rather than an across the board slash and burn approach. Target small busineses and growing industries. Millionaires and billionaires aren't going to suffer if they don't get another 10 years of tax relief but the middle class will suffer if we don't start generating jobs and who generates jobs? Small businesses.
