Oh Great! Angry Christians. I get so tired of Christian politics in this country. They anoint themselves as the voice of America while they only speak out of self-interest. Every time I hear one of them say that America wants this..., Americans believe that..., America is ..... kind of nation, I want to puke. They don't speak for me and they shouldn't try to speak for others.
Whatever the Tea Party movement started out to be or might have been meant to be, I think it is pretty obvious that it has been co-opted by people like Sarah Palin, Christine 'Little Sarah' O'Donnell and the religious right. Heck, if this was a movement with any leanings toward real liberty left in it at all, you wouldn't have a candidate worrying about whether people think she is a witch or not a witch nor would you have the opposition bringing it up because it wouldn't be an issue. But, both sides knew that the religious right base of the Tea Party was going to freak out over it. As more people become aware of the real platform as it is now, more and more people will become quite uncomfortable with it. (talking independents and swing voters, of course.)
Both parties have their radical fringe. The Tea Party is just the fringe GOP. They'll fall in line and vote Republcian in the end because that is what they have always done. The fact the the GOP isn't extreme enough won't really matter in the end. Like lemmings to the sea, they'll do what they are conditioned to do.
The platform as it has been co-opted by people like Sarah Palin...well...the stances on Gay Marriage make me uncomfortable. As does the interventionist foreign policy. And interjecting Christianity into pretty much every political appearance. She totally strikes me as the typical religious right...all about freedoms...as long as they are freedoms that she agrees with. When the Tea Party started out as a smaller government and personal liberty party, it was interesting. Once it was adopted by that ilk, it is losing interest.
OK but then we'd have to come back to reality and pass off your consideration as the Fox News talking point it is. If only life could be all Fox News talking points, people like you would be in hog heaven. Show me YOUR survey that proves your Marxist nonsense and I'll admit that I'm wrong. I have to warn you, innane talking points are hard to back up with actual facts. Nice try though. Not really, I was just trying to end on a positive note.
Sarah Palin hell, Jim DeMint is out there saying that teachers that sleep with their boyfriends shouldn't be teaching. What about male teachers Jim? Is that OK because they are getting some? He has also attacked gays as being unfit for teaching. What century does this party hail from anyway? Maybe they'll propose that we only have female white virgins as teachers next and nobody else should be allowed in the classroom. Are there NO gay students? The only nutty people than the people in the GOP/Tea Party are the people that would ever consider voting for one of them.
OK but then we'd have to come back to reality and pass off your consideration as the media matters talking point it is. If only life could be all media matters talking points, people like you would be in hog heaven. Show me YOUR survey that proves your Christian nonsense and I'll admit that I'm wrong. I have to warn you, inane talking points are hard to back up with actual facts. Nice try though. Not really, I was just trying to end on a positive note.
Have you ever generated an original thought in your life? Your attempt at reverse logic here doesn't work because we do have a survey while you have yet to provide one. I'm not even going to say nice try this time. Because it really wasn't.
So show me the survey that shows "They anoint themselves as the voice of America while they only speak out of self-interest." You know, one of those polls that "I [you] personally think polls are just momentary snapshots that have little if any meaning and even less predictability of the outcomes they try to foresee." Somehow, I will bet this is going to be another one of those questions that you just decide to ignore. You are great at ignoring questions asking for facts.
Sorry, nobody ever said there was a survey that backed up my personal opinion on THAT subject but that was never the issue either was it? What a silly attempt to change the subject. Focus please! And you are right, I do tend to ignore silly off topic posts like yours. What is the point to responding to them, it only encourages you. I've had more focussed conversations with kids with A.D.D.
Let me see. I quote you and therefore I am going off topic. Uhmmmm. BTW, you quote said nothing about it being your personal opinion
The topic was the survey not my opinion. You disingenuously portrayed my comment as if it WERE the topic. You know this already. Stop playing the wounded victim. You don’t come off looking too well.
Survey? Again I quoted you. Look at post #10. "Show me YOUR survey....". I keep bringing you back to your words, but I am "playing the wounded victim"? DUH!!!!
And I bet he talks a lot about protecting FREEDOMS!!!!! and LIBERTY!!!!!...as long as they are the proper freedoms and liberties (wink, wink). Not all of them, of course. Just those special religious right ones. You know...the ones he agrees with.
