10 years ago, people would have been shocked by this. Now it's barely noticed in the midst of the chaos that has been allowed to unfold in this country. Vote democrat so an illegal won't get shipped back to where they belong!!?? This is going to motivate somebody who was otherwise unmotivated? What a bunch of retards. Pathetic.
The democrat party will destroy this country. They rely on the downtrodden to get elected. They have no incentive to lift the poor up out of poverty. So why do you clowns think they would ever want to improve people's lives with jobs? What incentive do they have to lose voters? They don't want these ignorant, illegals with criminal records here out of sympathy. They want them to breed like rabbits and have generations grow up begging for handouts, which will ensure their continued re-election. Anybody who can't see this IS A MORON!!

Why would any American citizen support a party like this? Why? Because the only ones less informed than the average liberal are the illegals they cater to.

 

The democrats will destroy this country? When? Its been going back and forth between dems and repubs since the Bull Moose party faded away. About 100 hundred years ago. Whats taking the democrats so long?

 

Don't worry. It won't be long now. Just have to get Obamacare kicked into high gear, legalize all of the illegals and watch their numbers increase from 20 million to 60 million overnight, and raise taxes a bit higher to pretend this country is actually paying for any of it. They're spending trillions as fast as they can at the moment. It took generations to accumulate a trillion before. Now they can rack up 1.3 trillion in a single year. Shouldn't be long now.

Through WWII, they did actually try to pay for what was going on. The sky wasn't falling yet back then. They sold war bonds to try to pay for the war. People had to ration. It was a necessary reality. People still had to live within the realm of reality. A short 70 years later, we've left reality long behind. The amounts being racked up now have never been seen before in anybody's lifetime. That is real. People on welfare expect 3 square meals and 52" tvs. Everyone expects the life of luxury at any expense to be paid for with money that does not exist. And never will. You can stick your head in the sand and pretend it doesn't matter if that helps you feel better about it.
You really think we won't have riots like they had in Greece within the next 20 years? Just wait.

Well Chicken Little; if you really think will fall within 20 years, why dont you just leave? Just go away to some country that doesnt allow political give and take. Anyone who thinks that the period between 1941 and 1945 was a cake walk compared to the horrors of today has to be a real jackass

 

The one thing, I think, that helped us economically/debtwise, etc then was that we came out of the war as the most dominant economic force in the entire world. I am a little less optimistic that we will be regaining that kind of power in this day and age to reduce these deficits. There is a lot more global competition now.

Also, I suspect a lot of the spending that increased the debt greatly during that time went away shortly after the war. In other words, it was war spending not programs spending.

Hard to find 1.27 trillion worth of easy (ie politically viable) cuts there. Especially when you consider that federal revenue almost certainly isn't going to magically go up any time soon on its own (ie without tax increases). It was basically 2 trillion in 2000 and is about 2 trillion now.

Also interesting to click the 'Hide Mandatory' button. The Mandatory stuff is more than just budget cuts. It requires changes to existing laws.

 

It's called facing the facts. Facing reality. Something you and most people are either unwilling or unable to do. Whether it's 20, 50 or 100 years, I don't know. You think this country will last another 200 years? If so, please list your reasoning. I hope I'm wrong! But quite frankly, I don't see how it won't fail. No politician is going to save us. There's only one here or there that does less damage than the next one. The best and the brightest are never going to Washington if you haven't noticed yet.

 

I actualy agree with the point that Vess is making that your country might actualy fall within the next X number of years and I will use this forum as a example of why that might well happen
Views are becoming more polerized and attitudes changing, from what I see here as a outsider most of you can not put aside your political differenceseven for a moment. So please tell me what hope does your country have if such a small group can not even have a political depate without it degenerating into name calling?
You want to keep your country then try working together not all Rebuplican ideas are bad nor are all Democrat ideas bad try to understand this simple fact. I doubt very much if either party actualy wants to destroy your country regardless of how some of you seem to think this is the case.

I'm not saying it will happen over a political party. It won't matter who's in office. Greenspan's the one that said they can guarantee social security checks forever but they can't guarantee the amount of goods people will be able to buy with them. Eventually the system has to crumble. It won't matter which party was to blame. In the end, nobody addressed it because they all think like Craig. Never had to worry about anything in the past so why worry about it now? Despite the drastic record deficits racking up. The likes of which we've never seen before.

So, the social security checks keep rolling out but suddenly, they only buy food for 2 weeks instead of the month. I'm saying when people who have been otherwise well fed, without a care, start going 2 to 3 days without any food, they aren't going to sit patiently in their homes waiting for politicians to come up with the next solution. That's just one problem we face.

I don't get along with liberal people because they are almost all as unAmerican as it gets and none of them are capable of talking problems through to a rational conclusion. There is no rational thought process involved and it upsets me that people like this have to affect my life.

Want an example? Amnesty for illegals. My opinion. I wish we could take everybody in and life was that easy, but it is not. We don't have enough jobs for ourselves, let alone them. They have nothing of value to add. A large portion of them are of the criminal element which is a burden on our society. We don't have enough money for ourselves. I wish we could pay for them all but we simply can't. Everybody needs to go home. That's just how it is.

Liberal opinion: Blanket amnesty for them all because it's the right thing to do (with the side affect of gaining us votes..snicker snicker, wink..). Have some compassion. End of story.

You see, this mindset isn't just a trivial idiotic inconvenience for the good people of this country. It's dangerous. To me, my family and future generations. But these people don't care. That's one example. There's no need to wonder why people don't get along here.

How many members here consider themselves moderate or centrists? The reason the people on this forum disagree so vehemently is precisely because they are so far apart to begin with. Actually, I'd compare the political atmosphere to a crowded restaurant. Where there's so many people talking that you have to talk louder and louder to be heard until it's so loud you almost have to shout across the table. I don't think there are too many moderates out of the batch of people who actually pay attention to what's going on. Things that may have been considered a "given" in the past are not a "given" anymore. So, you have to pull harder, talk louder, be more extreme, just to be heard. Seems to me you have to have strong beliefs and be firmly planted or you get run over. Moderate conservative beliefs are considered radical right wing extremes by the left these days. That's where we're at now.

 

So it may happen in 100 years, but will surely happen before 200 years. Youre quite the little Nostradamus aint ya? Tell ya what; if it happens 147 years from now, I will say you were right about everything. Ok?

Actualy this is not the only forum with such polarized views LOL now on the issue of Illiagals do Democrats actualy want a blanket amnesty or do they simply wish for a Amnesty for Law abiding people (ie those who do not go out commiting crimes on a daily basis) as far as I have been able to see no one has asked that Criminals be given such a amnesty (here I am of course not counting the crime of actualy been a Illigal)
Also Librals are no more Anti American than the vast majority of Right wing Americans they simply have a different set of core beliefs on how the state should be run
Before his Election I kept on reading as to how President Obama was going to sell out the Armed forces (Cus he hated them and America) has it happend? of course not, has the country collapsed? of course not, has he jumped into bed with Castro and the lunatic in Iran or Chavez? Again No Has he allowed America to be pushed around by anyone? NO
Hell he has even stood up to China and continued with arms sales to taiwan and brought in tariffs on trade with them in response to there unwillingness to play on a level field.

Right before the 2008 elections, they tried to ram rod through blanket amnesty, under the pleasing disguise of so-called "immigration reform." Which that scum bag McCain co-sponsored and then tried running away from it by election time. Immigration reform to me would be sealing the border so that people could be identified and let through in a legal way, in hopes of weeding out at least a few of the drug dealers, murderers and rapists.

Their idea is flat out blanket amnesty for EVERYBODY that's here illegally. Millions who have already broken the law and don't give a rat's ass about this country, it's past or future. Then the dems would instantly gain millions of new voters (and remember!! This isn't do what's good for the country. It's do whatever it takes to win the next election!!) with the side benefit of not having to pretend to enforce our laws anymore. This would instantly cause an explosion in the welfare class, reliant on the democrats to take care of them. That's the only logic behind their thought process. The excuse was that if they were all legal, then they could be taxed. Which is laughable, because what are you going to get in taxes out of them compared to what the government would have to expend on them? That only got brought up on talk radio though.

Thankfully, the whole idea was pretty much s-canned for the time being.
