Large missile launched off of CA coast today...origin unknown

Does this concern anyone else? Nobody is claiming responsibility for it and there doesn't seem to be any concern.

My theory: Probably a foreign sub snuck in under the radar and sent one up "over the bow" so to speak, just to show us they were there, and they went home. In the mean time, B.O. and family are galivanting around Asia and we wouldn't want to disturb the trip with real national security concerns.

Military officials are calling it an apparent 'large' missile with "unknown origin", coming out of the ocean. Have seen the videos of it on the news tonight so nobody's making it up. Just want to get that out there before one of the uninformed here scrambles to play that card (again).

Have a feeling Bush would have taken this seriously and come home immediately. Obama may or may not know about it yet. Nothing would surprise me.

 

More than likely was our own military more than anything else. The fact that they deny,deny,deny..speaks volumes.

Yeah Bush would have rushed right home..just like he did on 911. Certainly he would have been there, just like he was during Katrina.

 

What's the point of denying it? Nobody would care that they launched a missile. I'd say more damage is being done by denying it and nobody knowing what's going on.

 

Because if they didn't deny it, then they'd have to provide some explanation as to what it was. Deny it, and no explanation needed. No way they didn't know what it was. Not today. Also, by not admitting it was ours, they help keep the boogie man alive and well.

 

Just Googled it Vess and no argument that something happened out there.

As for President Obama knowing. I'm sure he's been informed even if he knew about it beforehand (gotta consider that possibility after all).

Now I'll ask what would rushing home (presumably with the large "vacation staff") accomplish? If there's anything to be accomplished on his current trip it could dry up.

Seriously what could he do from the White House, or California for that matter, that he couldn't do from India?

There will be so many questions and not enough answers on this one I'm afraid and it is serious.

 

I was in ASW ops (anti submarine warfare) in the Navy. Trust me...we know EVERY subsurface contact, fish or foe that get anywhere close to our shores. Impossible not to be aware of it. It was ours.

 

Inclined to agree with Tom, if a forign sub could get that close to mainland USA and launch something without been detected then guy's I sugest you surender now. As for President Obama cutting short his overseas visit what would the point of that be?

 

I heard that a kid playing a middle school football game tricked the other team and walked through the line and then ran for a touchdown. Why hasn't the president responded to this situation? Damn it! I want answers! Heads must roll! Someone has to be fired. Obama should cancel his trip and address this crisis. We're doomed, doomed, doomed!

Aside from that, in case anyone has not heard yet, out AWS team has determined that missile was really an (ready for this)...........airplane.

Even he wouldn't have been that dumb. Probably would have sent Cheney to a secret underground bunker and gone about his day until they found out what it really was.

 

Yeah, they're saying today it was apparently an airplane because it changed course. I don't know if I'm willing to believe that yet but I suppose it's a possibility. The only thing I find strange is that with all the sunny days the CA coast has had over the years, over decades, and all the planes that have flown through there, all of a sudden one looks like a missile launch that fools even military officials. Never been replicated before. Seems strange to me.

With new stealth technologies, who knows what is possible? NORAD said themselves that nothing showed up on radar so "there was no cause for concern!" Huh? The Chinese couldn't be developing stealth missiles? If it was a plane, wouldn't it show up on radar? There's no history to go back on? They should be able to look at the time of the video and track down which plane it was. But that's not going to happen. Couldn't somebody follow the plane and watch it come over land since it was coming towards the camera to cause the optical illusion?? I guess not.

 

Some blogger (and contrail expert/whatever) supposedly figured out what plane it was and took a photo of the same flight today with the same kind of contrail.

 

Has anyone considered Romulans?

 

Just remember that whatever it was, it wasn't what anybody actually witnessed, it's whatever they have been told that they saw. Now repeat after me.."you did not see an ICBM" ,,THEN..."You saw a plane". There. Now you have the official story. They'll probably change it a few more times in the upcoming weeks (soon as they can make one up).

 

So it could have been Romulans?

 

The Romulans are a good possibility. I'm leaning towards the Bejorins, or possibility even The Borg...don't count them out!

It was an ICBM. Launched from a North Korean sub, with the missile in tow. Meant to prove that they can get close to us if they want to. A show of power. I guess that new class of submarine the north Koreans debuted, avoids detection fairly easily. ASW ops are going wild about now, tracking everything from whales to subs. Leave was just canceled, liberty revoked, all hands return to your ships for immediate deployment! Poor slobs. Can you say "contract extension"?

 

Well...it's official official. No big deal. It was just a jet contrail. Mystery solved.

Well..if it was simply a jet contrail, then providing the flight number shouldn't be any big deal (but I guarantee you we won't get it). Also, I know nobody believes in chemtrails (that do not dissipate), and I know everybody believe the big "X's" they see in the sky every day painted all over the country, are just jet contrails too. FYI..contrails ALWAYS dissipate quickly except under the rarest of circumstances. Chemtrails spread out and turn blue sky into white. But I digress.

It's sure good to know it was only a plane that popped up out of the water straight up, and that it was nothing of consequence. The government said it was a normal contrail, then it must be a contrail. Case closed. Never mind what you think you saw.

Remember when we used to badmouth and propagate when Russia (as we were told by the government), that the citizens of their country were so stupid because they believed the nonsense that Moscow fed them continually?

All is good though. The republicans took back the house so we're good. Not to worry.(after all, now we're all safe and sound under their leadership). That IS comforting.
