Much of what seems to have been leaked is either stuff that they don't want us to know that they are doing (for not much of a good reason - like the deaths of civilians) or stuff that would be embarrassing to the government (or, often as not, to politicians). Some parts of the leaks probably are dangerous. I tend to think that if they didn't spend so much time worrying so much about the first 2 (and so much time trying to safeguard them), they would have an easier time keeping the last one truly secret.
I'm guess that Private Manning and other grunts will no longer have access to this type of information in the future. Upside?
My initial thoughts were along the lines of "good...WE NEED MORE of that". The more I think about it, maybe not such a good idea to dump information everywhere, but hey, the Patroit Act in reverse doesn't sound like a bad thing either. Good for the goose..good for the gander type of thing maybe? The Patriot Act pretty much flushed the Constitution down the toilet for all of us...perhaps the same standard should apply to the lawbreakers, I mean lawMAKERS as well. Not sure at this point.
