Fookin A, I can't for the life of me post an image here, it has gotten alot more complicated than it used to be.

Anyways, I witnessed the swearing in of an American citizen today. My buddy , Jose, after 11 years, is now a citizen. I bet you this, he knows more of our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and history than most college students. He wept, then kissed the flag, and his family cried very happy tears, as did I.

Rock on, our newest American !!!!!! Jose, you make America a better place !!!!!

To love your country, and heritage is great. To dislike your government is fine if they can not govern.

How long did it take Jose to gain citizenship from beginning to end? Just curious. I've heard it can take as long as 10 years.

It took him 11 years, Moen, and $15,000 dollars which my boss lent him interest free and took it out of his paycheck a little a week over time :)

Now that is dedication, wonder how many would be willing to do that (those born in a country to gain citizanship)

Nah, not really. It does piss me off however that the rich are so rich that they can cough up an extra 30 bucks an hour for anything.

Wait a minute dood, you just made a referance that mexicans work for $10 a day......what gives?
Jose is a skilled toolmaker, we taught him, we pay him well, he did it legal. You should be happy for him, most mexicans get $10 a day because they are ilegal.........Support your newest citizen, he should make you proud !!!! I know I am, for him and his famlly. this guy has not called in sick for 3 years, I cannot say the same for the lazy Americans that work in my shop.

I am happy for him if he is who you try to represent he is. Far as the lazy Americans part...perhaps if employers would pay them accordingly, the American might not be so lazy. You get what you pay for?

I think you should stop prostituting Jose in order to make cheap political points now. What started out as a nice thread has really turned ugly.

Well, i thought tomc's comment seemed a little insensitive to say the least. Or racist to say the most. Or maybe it was meant as neither but I could see how it could get Jack riled up in a post about his friend.

Well, why don't you just tax them more and distribute the wealth? Or move to Venezuela...
