Oh, I love me some Chicago style pizza. They tried one up the street from us when we were living a couple of hours further north (it might have been a Giordanos or maybe it was Giovanis...something like that). It almost took 2 people to bring out a large pizza. lol Unfortunately, we were already too far south there and too close to StL (home of that thinny crap) and the place lasted less than a year. Too bad because it was within walking distance of the house at that time and we loved the place. Down here, even further south from Chicago...haven't found any Chicago style places. Still looking, though. There is one place that is supposed to have 'Chicago style' about 20 miles away. Haven;t been yet. Godfathers was good pizza, though, and I was sad to see it go. It was a relatively short drive.
I like thin crust too but it tends to be some of the greasiest stuff to ever touch your lips. There is a chain called "Toppers" that does a pretty good thin crust.
I am on the thin crust side of this argument.......trust me, there is no good pizza in Phoenix AZ. We do have an UNO, but thats deep dish, not to my liking Edit, you also canot get a good Coney Dog or a Gyro here.....but our Mexican Food kicks ass.....I miss my midwestern chilidogs and gyros, and I wou;d die for a White Castle !!!
I totally agree. I like pepperoni, but if there's too much pepperoni it, it becomes a greasy mess and it soaks into the crust and makes it soggy. I usually order it with "less pepperoni". Like Arizona Jack in Phoenix, Oklahoma City doesn't have many good pizza places. There is a restaurant called "Nomad's" that uses a hand-made crust and they cook it in an old-fashioned brick oven. They use fresh tomatoes (nothing canned). Sometimes you'll get little burned areas on the bottom of the crust, but that's a good thing with hand-made pizza. Arizona Jack, you're right about the Mexican food in Phoenix. Some of the best Mex food in I've ever had was in Phoenix and I loooooooove Mexican food! Some day I'd like to retire to Scottsdale and enjoy some more of that delicious Mexican cuisine. Now, if you want to talk Bar-B-Que, come to Oklahoma..........!
If it is thin, it has to be crispy. If you can fold it, it is either too greasy or isn't done cooking yet.
