Suspicion of racism???? Thats hysterical. I'd be in prison for life. Shouldn't the Pub owner be charged as well? It was his machine and song.

Amazing! What are the odds that the only 2 Chinese people in the entire country would be walking past that bar at that exact time?

I agree, it is far too easy for most people to chose to be offended, rather than rational. A large part of it may be due to greed. The thought of being offended can sometimes be heightened by additional thoughts of a big pay day. Most lawyers encourage this type of behavior, again for the sake of greed. I try not to be offended, unless it interferes with my daily life. I would rather be tolerant of other peoples behaviors since I realize I have some that others would object to. To be offended is too easy for most though, be it for greed or lack of empathy.

I could understand jailing him for covering that horrible song but racist?

I wonder what part of the lyrics offended them so much?

The irony of the situation is that Chinese people are the most openly racist culture in the entire world, even against themselves. Dark skin color is in indication that you spend time in the sun and are therefore a commoner (farmer, laborer). The elites in China strive to achieve as pale a skin tone as possible.

I don't know any Chinese Brits, but ABC's would never handle the situation that way and make a complaint. Typically, the would just make insults in a Chinese dialect. This whole story sounds fishy to me.

That realy is crazy, I do know some chineses folks over here and have never heard any of them complain about this song, also it has recently been played on a couple of tv shows I wonder if they will now arrest the producers of those shows!

I was hoping you would have some inside knowledge to add that would make a little sense out of this.

Sorry cant help but again I have to be honest here it comes as no suprise As you might know we have just had a Royal wedding here, well one of the companies making a cake for the Royal couple actualy banned the staff from flying the Union flag as it upset a couple of the workers at the factory (they said it had something to do with Sectarianism and Football!) the decision was later reversed thanks to the volume of complaints from the public
