Re-read what I wrote. I began by saying "bravo", didn't I? And to your other point, there is some ground between cowering (as he appeared in the photo) and all smiles as you described, wouldn't you agree?
Yes David you did then went into great detail trying to attack him again Ps I did not see him cowering but if thats what you want to think that is your perogative
I'm just posting what I heard. Belief on your part or on mine is another matter. The sources that you or most other people tend to believe are highly correlated to which sources corroborate your or their already held beliefs. I had no previously held beliefs on this subject so I was merely expressing another opinion. If nothing else it points out that there are at least two opinions on the subject.
BTW, Congressman Peter King, the Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, says that it did come from waterboarding. Let me see. Should I believe you or the congressman? I wonder how long it would take me to decide.
I thought that they changed his name to congressman "McCarthy-Are you now or have you ever been a Muslim...." Did I hear wrong?
Translation; He has no sources to back up his claim. However, the sources that he tends to believe are highly correlated to which sources corroborate his already held beliefs. Therefore, he does not feel our source is as credible as his belief.
You didn't post a source. You just jumped into a conversation and started using the word "our". Is there something about you two the rest of us should know?
It is so funny to see the Republicans so impotent. Very laughable. It's like Bob Dole all over again.
I read somewhere that the original intel that culminated in killing OBL started 4 years ago. That obviously proves that the Bush is really the one who should be getting all the credit. The current President just took the easy layup off the great pass from the last President. Being serious, though, it was a gutsy move that was far from being a sure thing. I can't even imagine the tension in that room when they were listening to the mission going down.
He could have orderd a bombing raid or a drone strike with the possibility of a lot of collatral damage but no he did the one thing that a lot of people would be aprehensive about (Remember President Carter and Iran) he sent in helos for a surgical strike and in doing so put his political life on the line (If it had gone wrong it would have been the Iran fiasco x100000). I have heard some Americans ask did he have the right to order the capture/death of Bin bag well yes he did the guy was a threat to the US of A and her citizens, he had the guts to order what needed doing so well done him
I find it laughable the people who are questioning whether Obama had the legal right to have bin Laden killed. Since when are they concerned about the Constitution? Where were they when the Patriot Act trampled the Bill of Rights? Where were they when the TSA shredded our right to not be searched without probable cause? Where were they when the wars were started without a Congressional declaration of war in the first place? Suddenly, they're concerned about legal rights because Osama bin Laden was killed? These people who say that deserve a pimp slap, nothing more.
This thread is amusing. The sheer DESPERATION to say something positive about Obama speaks volumes. The desperation to rub this in everybody's faces. It's a real laugh. The OP seems unable to put things in perspective. I would expect this kind of jubilation had Obama single handedly invented a cure for cancer. Sure, I'll give Obama a pat on the back for this but tomorrow it's time to get on with business. I'm not going to dwell on the fact (or wet myself) over Obama, sitting at the Whitehouse "giving the nod" to go ahead and have SEALS go in and do the dirty work. Which was a culmination of years of interrogations and planning beforehand. It was politically risky to send a covert SEAL team into Pakistan? Bulls#it. If it would have went wrong and nobody was there, do any of you clowns really think we would have heard about it? Get real.
People question if bin Laden is dead does not surprise me a bit. Do you really expect those who believe that NASA landed on the moon in their film studio are going to believe this without so much as a picture. Even when (if?) they release some pictures, it won't compare to the documentation for a moon landing.
If this President cured cancer, half the country would complain he wasn't doing what he was elected to do and half of that half would never believe the people cured ever had cancer in the first place.
"The CIA said it did not tell Pakistan about the raid in advance over fears they would jeopardise the mission." In other words, exactly what McCain/Palin repeatedly said they would not do.
