Just got back from voting--How many of you Americans voted today?

I live in a fairly conservative area, but dang, the Democrats had quite a collection of people outside their headquarters last night! The polling place had no lines to speak of (people coming in after me had to take a seat for about five minutes), but there were plenty of people coming in and leaving at a brisk pace. I'd have to say that, for our semi-rural area, we had a pretty good turnout. It wasn't as good a turnout as the presidential election, but it was at least equal to, if not better, than other non-presidential elections.

Did any of you folks vote? If you did, how was the turnout in your area? As good as any non-presidential election? Better? Worse?

We had no elections today. All there were was a couple school board/bond votes in other districts.

There wasn't any vote in my town. I just checked massvote.org and found that there were forty cities and towns in Massachusetts that did have elections for local offices such as mayor, town council, etc. It's great we have websites like this so we can quickly find out info about voting.

I did my moral duty and voted against any republican I could identify. The ones I couldn't determine were or were not republican, I wrote in "other than republican".

Good to know that you gave no more thought to serving your community by doing other than voting the party line. I'm sure that that was a wonderful idea and very beneficial in bringing positive change with this election. Bravo.

Thank you! Many years of life experiences have taught me that voting AGAINST any republican is ALWAYS the correct choice. The right wing most certainly never represents my best interests.. Vote anti republican requires no more thought knowing to vote against them. The right wing is corrupt, evil and love the rich. Like I said, not in my interests.

We only had a few local races yesterday...mayor & city council.

On a side note, KY had several state office races...Gov, AG, etc...the campaign commercials were hialrious. Both sides, dim & repub, basically ran anti-Obama campaigns. The dims tried to distance themselves from BO & the repubs tried to associate the dims with BO. Too funny...but a sure indicator of how the next election season is going to look.

It seems that the voters in Ohio have soundly rejected the Republican overreach that stripped public sector unions of collective bargaining rights. This is just the beginning of the awakening of the voters in this country that refuse to let ideology trump common sense and family values that the real workers in this country depend on. Kasich is most likely the next target for all those voters thanks to all that he has done in Ohio to hurt working people. WE built this country, not corporations. Could these Midwestern Republican Governors be more out of touch with the people they work for? Doubtful! I guess the lesson here is don't piss off the electorate so badly that they actually vote.

It's rather difficult to overcome union bosses and left-wing interest groups who spend $24M to the opposing side's $8M. But, hey, look what $24M will buy these days!

Sad but true. All those involuntarily collected union dues going into a big pot and for only one purpose.

And please remind me what the vote on Obamacare was.

When you've got agricultural interests on one side and unions on the other, the Midwestern governors are stuck right in the middle with no good choices. If they view the ag interests as being job-producing companies/farms that feed the area and unions, which inevitably cost a municipality money, then they might feel they have only one choice. No matter what they do, there's going to be people who are upset.

What was the question again? Oh yeah, did I vote.

Our local elections were basically councilmen, mayor etc. I planned on voting after work.
There were four of us at work yesterday and all of us there always vote. Three of us live in the same city.
My boss the staunch Repbublican automatically hits R.
My other co worker is Libertarian.
The other worker lives in the next city over. She's a Democrat but the mayor there has some issues so she was leaning Rebublican.

Anyway the ballot was really odd in our little city. I'm in a different district than my boss and Libertarian co worker but they voted before work, or shall I say showed up to vote.
The ballot was nothing but incumbents. Nary a challenger and no yes/no questions.

I knew my wife would vote so I called her later and asked if our ballot was any different. It wasn't so guess what? I didn't vote. Apparently there was only one district where there was a challenger for councilman.

I would try to deny all knowledge of that fiasco too.

The unconstitutional law that is retarding companies from hiring new people and is bankrupting the country. The same one BO promised would be covered live on CNN and Pelosi told us to pass it so we could see what it really is. You know that piece of garbage.

If there were elections where you live did you vote?

    HollysMom asked a good question.
