Do you wonder what BO says to his mega-rich supporters behind closed doors? How can he bash the wealthy in public then turn around & take their money behind closed doors? Typical liberal hypocrisy? http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/storie...ME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2011-12-07-21-11-49
Typical David-Obama-bashing. But yeah, I agree. If I was President I wouldn't have ANY of those *poofs* as supporters with influence. I'd take their money too... but I'd make it clear to everyone, including those supporters, that I'd do what I thought was right and not cater to their interests because they gave me money. That would be stated loud and clear before any money was accepted for my campaign. And repeated often. So yeah, you have a point.
Which is it? On one hand you say I'm Obama-bashing but you end your post by saying I have a point. BO is a world-class hypocrite.
It can be both. The reason I say you are an Obama-basher is because your focus is on Obama, and Democrats (and/or liberals) in general while ignoring any Republican (an/or conservative) wrong-doings. I'm a more equal-opportunity basher. Obama does have ties with the rich and influential in big business, as does Biden... who's connections with the credit-card industry infuriates me. (IMO the credit-card industry needs serious restrictions put in place and much more regulation. I also believe no individual who is in poverty, or close to being in poverty, should even think about having a credit-card unless they have a firm plan on paying off the debt).
Here is the problem with your short-sighted assumption. You assume that ALL wealthy people behave like Right-wing wealthy people, greedy, self-serving, angry, mean, money worshipping, blights on society. Not all wealthy people are devoid of a social conscience like RW'ers so asking those wealthy people that do have a social conscience to support him is well within the bounds of reason. Do you ever think about anything any deeper than the sound bite Fox feeds you? Because it doesn't seem like you actually do.
May I interject upon this conversation, I hate Obama. Thank you for your time and thought regarding this matter.
Drivelus maximus. Big surprise. Campaigns need money after all. Ask Ross Perot. Conversely I wonder how many 99%ers have given money to Republican candidates? After all if they were all just "liberals" we wouldn't be having this so called "discussion". Yet we are (well kind of). Reality.
That's kinda one of those "duh" comments and way off the mark in this discussion. The difference here is in the extreme attacks, on the wealthy, coming from BO (and the left) yet when it comes to sustaining his position, who does he run to?
YOU might think it's a "duh" comment and way off the mark in this so called discussion but to other folks it is indeed reality. It's only "way off the mark" because you disagree. Doesn't fit your little "bash Obama for anything" agenda. Campaigns need money. Yep that's a "duh" but it seems I had to point that out to you (that they need money). It's also the reality part and I frequently feel you are out of touch with that. How about a hypothetical situation here. Oh goodee. Let's say that a huge emergency comes up in your life and you need $50k that you don't have. Your boss is a billionaire while the janitor makes $30k a year. Who would you approach first for a "donation"? I would think the boss would be the most logical first choice. Now, of course, your boss could just say no couldn't he? Just like any 1%er could tell President Obama no. Then you explore other options. Reality. By the tone of your whine it seems you might be all for campaign finance reform. Are you? - because it would apply to everyone not just President Obama.
Another "duh" question being posed in a weak analogy. But......would it be typical to bash the boss before, after & during this request for money? I think not. Try again.
OK then explain this to me. If he bashes them before, after and during the request in their opinion why would they even consider donating? Yet they do. I know this a reach for you David because, once again, it's contrary to beliefs in your little world but maybe they just don't see it your way. You need to get out of that little box you're in once in a while dude.
One just needs to look at the benefits so many companies have rec'd for donating to BO regime to understand why they take the public pounding for the private b*ll licking. ....and just an FYI for you...BO doesn't really believe what he says when he bashes the wealthy (he needs them, as you've pointed out). It's all a ruse to get the slow witted to jump on his bandwagon- and from what you post here it seems to be a successful strategy. It's all part & parcel of that hypocrisy thing BO and the far left wingers are so good at.
No Sheet Sherlock. Now that's a DUH! You're just figuring this out? Has it EVER happened before? So President Obama has told you this personally? Next time you make a statement like this look in a mirror if you can stand it. Just replace a few things in your obviously not brilliant statement. First replace BO with the right winger of your choice. Then replace left with right. Then look in the mirror again (if you can stand it) and say slow witted.
Well I really can't speak for you David but I suppose the truth here does hurt you doesn't it? After all, it seems your worst nightmare is President and the Repubs just may not have a strong enough candidate to challenge his re election. The word rears it's ugly head again. REALITY.
I think this is probably the "closet to the mark" you've ever been so we'll have to give you a little silver star for the effort. Now, you would have gotten a gold star if you had expounded a bit. BO is actually the whole country's worst nightmare- an underqualified novice who has taken a bad situation & made it 100x worse.
