Moen, again you're acting like the injured party. As Will Smith said in the movie "Men in Black," "Don't start none, won't be none." It's one of my favorite movie quotes and it's SO apropos here.

Where exactly did I even begin speaking with David? I was talking to Andy and David jumped in and attacked me. Go back and read the conversation and then apply your fictional movie wisdom to the correct party. I've been attacked in every one of his posts today but you choose to side with the aggressor while lecturing the guy being attacked. What do you think I should make of that behavior?

I think you pull out the "he started it" defense when it suits you. Just because you didn't start it in this thread doesn't mean that you haven't been steadily poking at each other from opposite sides of the back seat in other threads. You two have posted little sniping baby posts at each other for as long as I can remember here. You both need to settle down, play a good game of "I spy . . ." for the next 60 miles or so, and let the grown-ups listen to the oldies station in peace for a while.

Thank you for acknowledging that I'm right. ;)

I think what I was acknowledging was that I wasn't interest in being attacked by David and having to defend myself to someone else. What sense does that make?

I rarely respond to David with anything other than a snarky comment because anything else is just pointless. He doesn't even usually grasp the issues he is commenting on. I don't care what he thinks any more than he cares what I think. Mediating such an interaction should have become pointless to you by now but you persist. Good luck with that! Caretaking is its own reward sometimes.

If my life were a failure, it would be my fault.

So, tell us, when your fellow lefty was telling us of his predicament why didn't you offer to help?

If you think so little of the intelligence or the debating ability of the people here, then why continue to post to these people? Or, if you feel that your skills are better, why not improve the skills of the other individual(s) by addressing the problems in the argument and demonstrating the errors in logic? I am neither interested in "mediating" or "caretaking," however. Rather, I am expressing my frustration in an acceptable fashion--banging my head against the wall might produce similar results, but it is too painful and it causes my dogs to bark.

You silver-tongued devil you! *blushes* And honestly, while you frustrate me sometimes, I enjoy debating you, as well. :)

You make good points and I like hearing your perspective even when I don’t agree with it. I just believe that trying to moderate the interactions of others here is just going to be an exercise in futility. The mods have even backed off for the most part and the squabbles seem to settle themselves without their help. I usually just walk away from the sniping after taking a few **absolutely hilarious** ;) shots of my own.

I think that one positive thing I can say about old Mitt is that he probably doesn't hate or dislike anyone. He is more like completely out of touch with anyone that doesn't travel in his elite circles. He's probably a nice enough guy to sit down and have a soda with but the things he has in common with average people can probably be counted on one hand and mostly include anatomical similarities including his hand. He has just been too insulated his entire life and can't connect with ordinary people at this point.

I dunno. His bio says that he was born in Detroit Michigan. I saw the movie 8 mile and the white boy in it really knew how to relate to all kinds of kinds. I think Mitt might be like him.

As moen said above I don't think Romney understands or cares enough about poor people to generate the energy required to dislike them. Of course dislike and not caring can have the same net effect.
