Why bother! It's not like he learned anything the last time. What was the stock market at the day Obama took office? How many jobs were being lost each month the day Obama took office? How close was this country to going over the financial cliff the day Obama took office? What was the state of the U.S. Auto Industry the day Obama took office? How many unfunded wars were we involved in the day Obama took office? How many people were losing health coverage every year the day Obama took office? David, feel free to start a thread on any or all of these issues when you get a chance.
Fine. ...I was just.... I just wanted... I mean I didn't want... ...the sound of one hand clapping? But I understand.
Back to the original topic; If BO wins again, we will absolutely hit $5.00 unless the economy collapses first. If a Republican wins. there is a chance we can avoid it, but Iran may still drive the price over $5.00 due to Obama's mishandling of our relations with Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and the rest of that area.
Except that we have no relations with Iran and we haven't had any since 1979, but I'm sure that is Obama's fault too. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiggggggggghhhhhht!
Well, I do not think I was talking about having sexual intercourse with Iran, but take your pick of the rest. I was not referring to official governmental relations, but I think you really knew that but just tried to bust my chops.
I think they are suggesting that "When (insert a Republican) wins, all our problems will be solved!" Hell, if I believed that were true I'd vote for (insert a Republican) myself!
Explain again how all these jobs have been created yet the Unemployment rate has risen. Ford has done better than GM or Chrysler & they took no gov't money. Under Obamacare insurance coverage has only expanded to involuntarily include everyone under Medicaid
....and vice versa- if I thought BO had any ability whatsoever to improve this country I wouldn't be so adamently opposed to his presidency...
Gas prices are on the rise. That's a fact. Will Obama call for the same action that he called for during the Bush administration? Doubtful, now that he's in power. View attachment 385 THEN-SEN. BARACK OBAMA demanded that the Federal Trade Commission investigate Big Oil for "price manipulation." In 2008, Obama urged the Justice Department "to open an investigation into whether energy traders have been engaged in illegal activities that have helped drive up the price of oil and food."
The second he said that energy prices would "necessarily skyrocket," I knew I'd rather vote for Ted Bundy over Barack Obama for president (or at least Al Bundy . . . let's not be perhaps too extreme). Edited to add: He was referring to electricity and cap and trade:
As with any chart, long term trends are far more telling than a mere 2 years of data. Let's see how gas prices have performed over almost the last 18 years after staying relatively flat in the beginning. View attachment 386 Well shock of shocks, it seems that gas prices started their upward trend right after Clinton and have continued to rise. I wonder how Obama managed to accomplish that 8 years before he even took office. Man, he is good!
Gas was $1.84 when BO took over, it's now approaching $5.00. Trends be damned, this is a HUGE increase in only 3 years.
That is an interesting interpretation of a chart you are trying there. It is not the "last 18 years" and I did not realize that Clinton left office in 2003 because that is when the price went up from when he left office.
We will see it eventually... at least the equivalent in $. But that does bring up an excellent point... that the price for gasoline in America is far, far less than most other developed countries... with the major exception of the Middle-East.
It fits BO's plan...he wants high gas prices as a way to curb our use of fossil fuels- without having any viable alternatives lined up!!!!!! What an idiotic approach. Doesn't he understand as gas prices skyrocket the people he claims to care about the most suffer the most? Runaway gas prices will take a devasting toll on our weak economy.
