Limbaugh seems to feel that women who use birth control are sluts. I guess that makes 99% of the women in this country sluts in his opinion. He is losing sponsors faster than his doctor can write him prescriptions for Oxycodone. Considering that this man is the defacto mouthpiece of the GOP, I wonder how proud Republican women are of this guy. Way to go RW’ers! Your race to the bottom is at an end. You made it.

Rush Limbaugh controversy: Sponsors pull ads after he calls law student Sandra Fluke a 'slut'; Obama expresses support to Fluke


UPDATE: It seems Rush Limbaugh may have finally gone too far for good this time. According to the Chicago Tribune, President Barack Obama has expressed his support to Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke, who was called a “slut” and “prostitute” by Limbaugh regarding her testimony before Capitol Hill. White House spokesman Jay Carney said at a Friday briefing, “[President Obama] wanted to express his disappointment that she has been the subject of inappropriate personal attacks, and thank her for exercising her rights as a citizen to speak out on an issue of public policy. It was a very good conversation.”

Joining the support for Fluke are a number of companies who have opted to consider pulling their ads (or already have) from Limbaugh’s program in the wake of the controversy. The Huffington Post reports that mattress store Sleep Train told followers via Twitter, “we made decision to immediately suspend all advertising on that program”, while other advertisers like ProFlowers said they would “reevaluate our marketing plan” and eHarmony assured followers, “We’ve never paid for ads on Limbaugh. We’re looking into the matter of ‘network buys’.”


While many will have some choice words for Rush Limbaugh for calling a Georgetown University law student who testified before Capitol Hill regarding women’s access to contraception a “slut” and “prostitute,” Sandra Fluke calmly and collectively had some of her own in response to his statements.

Women are pretty upset by this. If this was a muslim country Rush may just have the heel-prints from a thousand shoes pressed into his fat face.

 

Hey, he knows what his people want to hear. His slavishly devoted audience of RW freaks swallows this stuff whole and making sure that the feeding troughs are filled keeps Oxy Boy in wives, cigars, and Maybachs.

 

What I'm hearing is that so many sponsors are pulling support from his program due to the pressure from women, that this could actually be the final nail in his coffin. I'll believe it when I see it.

He certainly has an audience for these views on the Right no doubt but does he have sponsors? Here is a list of his sponsors:

Oxycontin Boy has apologized even as he loses another sponsor with Carbonite opting to walk. Something must be starting to hurt. I doubt that it's Slimebaugh's conscience.

He doesn't do this stuff by accident. He knows exactly what he is doing. He is first and foremost speaking to his highly misogynistic, racist, Right-wing audience. They tune in to his show in greater numbers every time he says anything controversial. His sponsors go along with it because he has 20 million listeners and that means 20 million people hear their commercials and Limbaugh gets free advertizing and he gets even more money next time his contract rolls around. My question is, if he'll say anything for money, isn't Limbaugh just a propagandist SLUT? I mean if you'll say anything for money, how are you any different than someone who will have sex with anyone for money? Conclusion, Limbaugh is a radio slut.

 

I think that makes him a prostitute, not a slut. But, when it comes down to it, everyone is a prostitute in a sense if we provide any service for money.

What do you mean "wouldn't otherwise do"? Are you saying that sexual prostitutes wouldn't "otherwise do it"? What makes you think they wouldn't? Are you saying that you're better than a sexual prostitute because you work for someone in an office?

 

Do you believe that people are born prostitutes? That seems to be your logic. Nobody grows up and says, "I want to be a prostitute when I grow up."
Limbaugh doesn't believe most the crap he spews. What he believes, and accurately so, is that he gets a lot of money for saying those things. You can't logically argue that EVERYONE is prostituting themselves just because they earn a living. That argument is just a plain old logical fallacy.

 

We are who we become in life through a series of events. If someone becomes a prostitute or leader of the free world, it's the events that led them there. I don't place the same stigma on a prostitute that you seem to.

How do you know that? Limbaugh may believe in what he says just as passionately as you believe the things you say.

Not at all. You're prostituting yourself to your corporate clients just as a sexual prostitute does for her clients. You are selling your services to someone just like anyone else. There's nothing wrong with that, mind you, but you need to realize that we all do it.

 

Let me put this a better way so that you might understand it.

When you say something like, "Are you saying that you're better than a sexual prostitute because you work for someone in an office?" You are creating a logical fallacy. You do this quite often. Why is it a logical fallacy? It is a logical fallacy to extending someone's argument to ridiculous proportions and then criticize the result. You have extended my point to rediculous proportions.

 

It's not a logical fallacy. A sexual prostitute provides her services to a client for money. You do the same thing (non-sexually, I presume) by providing whatever service you provide to someone (your boss, the company, whatever it may be). Being a prostitute doesn't have to be demeaning as you imply, it's simply a fact that if you provide your service for money, you're a prostitute.

Hardly. Let's use you as an example. Someone with your self-described education level and Socialist sensibilities should, at least in his own mind, be in Obama's cabinet. I presume you're not in his cabinet, so you work at a school where you've either settled for a job that is less than your educational potential allows or you've reached the limit of your educational abilities. Either way, you're working for someone, providing your services to them and accepting money in exchange for those services. By definition, you're a prostitute. Don't be ashamed of it. Embrace it. Actually, you should feel fortunate that in this economy someone out there wants your services. You should have pride in that fact, but please don't demean the rest of the prostitutes out there.

 

Which begs the question everyone must ask themselves:

I'm a whore for money. I have no problem admitting that. What are you a whore for?

 

I could say "for sexy whores!"... but in the way it's being used here I'd say "living" instead.

A side note: I'm not of the opinion that the words "whore", "slut", or "prostitute" are derogatory... but accept that most people view such words that way. From my viewpoint all three represent people who have sex with multiple partners. The first two are meant to say multiple partners are unacceptable, and I disagree. Puritan beliefs are old fashioned IMO. The last is to say they charge for sex. I agree, but add that most prostitutes do not enjoy sex and feel horrible they are prostituting themselves. For the record: I have never engaged in multiple partners (at least simultaneously) or have ever prostitited myself or have ever sought the services of a prostitute.

Another note: I've noticed the site is using Facebook's algorithms for generating ads. I've even gotten an ad for sexy ladies in my area who are just dying to meet me. You Republicans may want to type words like "gold" or "investment opportunities"... but you may want to limit how many times you bring-up "Bush"... oh wait, that's a given.
