Forbes reports the smallest government spender since Eisenhower is: Barack Obama

Posted on September 3, 2012 by UTMB
Rick Ungar at Forbes asks, “Who is the smallest government spender since Eisenhower? Would you believe it’s Barack Obama?
Amidst all the cries of Barack Obama being the most prolific big government spender the nation has ever suffered, Marketwatch is reporting that our president has actually been tighter with a buck than any United States president since Dwight D. Eisenhower.

So, how have the Republicans managed to persuade Americans to buy into the whole “Obama as big spender” narrative?
It might have something to do with the first year of the Obama presidency where the federal budget increased a whopping 17.9% —going from $2.98 trillion to $3.52 trillion. I’ll bet you think that this is the result of the Obama sponsored stimulus plan that is so frequently vilified by the conservatives… but you would be wrong.
The first year of any incoming president term is saddled—for better or for worse—with the budget set by the president whom immediately precedes the new occupant of the White House. Indeed, not only was the 2009 budget the property of George W. Bush—and passed by the 2008 Congress—it was in effect four months before Barack Obama took the oath of office.

The rep. party doesn't want people to think of Obama in any positive terms, so this type of information isn't something they would want their constituents to see.

Have you noticed their most recent pattern? Romney will go on some non-Fox program and say things like, "I'd leave the part of Obama Care in that covers pre-existing conditions" and then his campaign will issue a statement later reversing it. They think that they can tell one story on one type of media outlet and then another story later on. WOW! It really proves what a bubble their base lives in. That and at least half of them credit or don't know if Obama or Romney should get more credit for killing Bin Laden. GEESH! The party of morons and dolts.

Oh Davy! You should talk. There is still a specific question you seem to be running from in another thread. You really have no moral high ground to stand on and preach to anyone.

Is there something specifically you find inaccurate on this biased website? I mean specifically. You've just learned that websites can be both partisan and factually correct. A lesson lost on Right-wingers because they just aren't used to it.

So tell us what the website got wrong. Criticizing the site itself is just the coward's way out of a lost argument. Tell us what you find inaccurate specifically about what they have written if you even can.
    Can you refute:
    Or any of these figures?
