Good stuff, Danr... bin Laden family invested in Bush's oil company during the 80s. Ummm.... wasn't the Afghan/Soviet war taking place during the 80s? A war that was stirred up by our CIA with the full knowledge of President Carter... even to the point of Carter's authorizing covert aid to anti-Soviet forces in Afghanistan... leading to Osama bin Laden's rise to power in the conflict in early 1980... still during the Carter administration... making not just the bin Laden family, but Osama himself an ally. It could be said that Carter is the very reason why Osama bin Laden is today the threat that he is.
Oh c'mon we all know that Carter is just smart enough to let hundreds of criminals into this country from Cuba, he couldn't make bin laden what he is, there had to be a Republican somewhere behind the scenes orchastrating this, DANR tell us all about these "shadow elephants"
To link Carter to this is like trying to link Bush to Little Big Horn, it does not work. Now I know that you have been brainwashed to the point that you have no ability to accept reality but that does not diminish the reality itself. Maybe someday you will recover from the massive hypnotic trance that Fox news has put you in (but I doubt it)
What makes you think I spend any time watching Fox News or any news channel for that matter? I read what I need to from as many sources as it takes for me to feel I have a clear picture from both sides... then I make my decision... you know, I'm sure you do the same... So, anyway, what was your point? That the Bushes and bin Ladens had business dealings back in the 80s when not just the bin Laden family but Osama himself was considered an ally to the US in the fight against the USSR? I just don't see what it is that you're trying to get at... Yes, it COULD be said that the Carter Admin was responsible for Osama becoming what he is. I'm not saying that I believe that to be the case. I'm just saying that the point could be made just as these theories that you throw around. Think about it... If Carter had never first authorized the aid to Afghanistan giving them the help they needed to counter the Soviet invasion, then OBL would never have had the resources to rise to power in that conflict. The Soviets would have walked all over Afghanistan. Osama, if he'd even shown up, would never have achieved hero status or may have even been killed... Of course, it could also be said that Carter's decision to aid Afghanistan lead us to the fall of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War. However, the death of one monster spawned the life of another.
Interesting term, brainwashed. I wash something to clean it... to get rid of the dirt and junk; to improve or restore it to its finest condition...
