Sorry, Emperor Obama, but I'm NOT GOING TO BALANCE ANY OF MY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS! Who the hell are you to tell us that we must "balance" our rights? Bullshit! Our rights are inherent and the Constitution guarantees them. I'm not going to balance my rights for anyone, least of all you. Starnes: Obama Says We Must 'Balance' Our Constitutional Rights January 5, 2016 By Todd Starnes, Fox Nation President Obama could barely contain his utter contempt for all of us gun-toting, Bible-clingers -- the people he once called bitter Americans. Almost sneering as he mentioned the ritual of affirming his belief in the Second Amendment, he said it was written on a piece of paper. That piece of paper is called the United States Constitution, Mr. President. It might do you some good to read it. When you overlook all the president's hollering, and pandering and weeping and finger-pointing, there was one specific statement he made that gave me a moment's pause. “There are other rights that we care about as well - and we have to be able to balance them,” he said. President Obama said that we have to "balance" our constitutional rights. Mark my words -- that kind of thinking is how the left will attack religious liberty. Because if they can balance our Second Amendment rights, they will most certainly do the same to our First Amendment rights. http://nation.foxnews.com/2016/01/05/starnes-obama-says-we-must-balance-our-constitutional-rights
They never seem to get their opinions from any source but Fox. If I wanted Fox's opinion, I wouldn't have their cable channel blocked.
Starnes doesn't offer any substantive criticism of President Obama's speech, and his non sequitur zinger at the end is simply pandering to the evangelical "we Christians are being persecuted" element in the Fox audience. For a genuine critical analysis of what the president was saying, I suggest "President Obama And The Rhetoric Of Rights".
Our constitution hasn't really been respected by either party in many years. Why else do any of you think we have trillions of dollars in debt, countless regulations, political correctness ad nauseum? Etc.
