Welcome to the Official 2020 Election Thread, this is where I encourage you to post your thoughts and opinions on election night as votes come in this evening. Please vote in our PL Poll and I hope you vote in the real polls too! Let’s see what happens!
Last time I tried to create a poll, it wouldn't allow anyone to select any of the choices. This feature might be dismantled in this forum. Damn! I was all ready to go full on Kanye too.
Four years ago, I went to bed confident that Hillary would be our president. This election I am even more confused by polling results. I truly have no idea how this race will pan out tonight. I lost confidence in polls after last election. And quite frankly, I have never known anyone that has been quizzed by a pollster.... I believe Biden severely hurt himself with his vacillating petroleum message since the last debate. I know the left likes to speak of higher ideals. I believe folks are a little more concerned with their pocketbooks to be too awfully idealistic. I say it is a 50/50 election either way.
Well I suppose it’s pretty obvious who each person is voting for. I believe I was the only one here seriously considering 3rd party, I ended up voting Trump anyway..
2016 was the first election I even bothered to look into. The 2 Obama terms, my dad just told me in the morning who won. 2016 I actually sat in the living room with my father watching the map and listening to commentary on the news, I remember the commentators were picking apart counties in Florida, saying “if this county votes this way and this county does this, blah blah blah which was bizarre to me that a single county with a few thousand people in it could shift an election.
I been paying attention since Reagan’s second term. I cannot ever recall an election that we didn’t know beforehand who the victor would be until 2016. This election is even more baffling.
This is exciting! But I'm nervous. If nothing else, for the relentless ads, mailers, texts, and calls, all I have to say is:
No kidding. I was still receiving emails asking me to contribute to a campaign. And I have never in my life given a financial donation to a political candidate. And don’t plan to anytime soon.
I gave quite a bit this cycle. It's been the first time I've been financially able. Turns out when you do, they get REALLY aggressive. I gave $50 once, and they never stopped calling trying to get me to give $250 (which is way out of my abilities right now) or at least double my last contribution to $100. On another note, it appears the election is over. Vermin finally made it!
In one very specific respect, though, the Trump era seems to have bolstered American democracy: We’re talking about record turnout, two years after a high-turnout midterm election. blue wave?
well it is just an assumption based on reading here, I wouldn’t bet on everyone’s voting choice but I would make moderately confident guesses.
Hmm, I liked Bernie, but I think Elizabeth Warren would have been most ideal. To be honest, I just don't find myself identifying with most of the democratic candidates.
Haha does sick with anxiety over this count as a thought? I am excited to see Texas keeps taking steps blue. I'm not optimistic about it flipping this election, but maybe 2024.
