--A new Politico/Morning Consults poll shows that 30% of Republicans believe Donald Trump will be reinstated as President sometime this year
David Frum said it best: “If conservatives become convinced that they cannot win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism, they will abandon democracy.”
That's 30% that have no clue how things really work. Did these same folks think the world was going to end in 2012?
they don't want things to work. they just want to punish "the other" and half the time it's them also
I spent some time with these folks in the past week. They are nice enough people, heck, one of them bought us a round of drinks. But they do have the rhetoric down pat. They don't believe in science, Joe Biden is senile because he tripped going up the steps of Air force One, and the rest of the talking points you and I raise an eyebrow to. What hit me about these people was something I didn't expect. The culture of the rural existence is bleak. There doesn't seem to be any hope in these folks. They genuinely are left behind. Whether that is their fault or the dreaded Libs fault or neither depends on who you talk to. But it is clear that they are being left to a bleak cultural irrelevance that they are having a hard time dealing with. They feel the privilege that they have always had slipping away. I can't disagree with their feelings because it is true. They are looking for someone to blame other than themselves and Libs, minorities, immigrants are as good a target as any. The "other" has taken hold.
