Am I proud of my party?
For the most part yes except Manchin and Sinema. They may as well switch sides IMHO.
Wanna trade? You can have them and we'll take the current Cheney and Kinzinger. LOL.

Now MD you make a lot of good points. Not all businesses are bad. Far from it. Guys like you abound that's how they stay around in the first place.
I don't support local businesses for nothing. They contribute more to my community than the mega rich.
The mega rich are the much larger problem. They become obsessed with money and don't care who they hurt or cheat IMHO.

In the same token taking a hard line on all social programs is just as insane. There will always be those working the system as it were. I just spent a week in the hospital because I'm not quite ready to die yet. Now I will go to the hospital every day for the next 5 weeks for antibiotic IVs in hopes of keeping my big toe. The bone is infected. I still might lose it but I have to try. Or should I? Should I just hurry up and die?

TC I'm afraid you shut your mind like a steel trap some time ago. All liberalism bad. Socialism scary word. That's just a shame. Things change and if one refuses to even consider change it makes for a miserable and boring existence. Just an opinion and who here would suspect we have similar musical tastes?
That's right folks. We agree on something!:p

Now MD you said you voted for Clinton the second time around. I didn't the first. When he said he smoked pot but didn't inhale he lost me. I smoked pot, I inhaled, I got high. Anyone who says differently is most likely lying.

It may also surprise you all that I've voted Republican more often than Democrat. This goes back to my first vote cast for Reagan.
What changed besides me? I became downright disgusted with my party (Republican). I grew and I observed and I didn't like what I was seeing.

In fairness Trump was in office when a pandemic hit. He handled it horribly I'm afraid. He's all about the economy but more specifically HIS economy. He didn't and doesn't give a rat's ass about you MD or you TC. It's all about him and nobody else. Always has been.
    He's a sick man. Seriously.

I'm truly sorry it hit you so hard MD but it would have regardless of who was in office. Big business kept chugging along for the most part while guys like you suffered. I cook a lot and watch a lot of cooking shows. The restaurant industry was decimated and most of them localized.

We DO have the strength to get through this as a nation. First we need to realize that the big lie is just that a big lie.
It's over Trump. You lost now shut up. The damage is done now it's continuing. Not because Democrats are beating it to death (although we are) but because you won't shut up as long as people are stupid enough to believe you. I yearn to see him in jail. It will come out that he belongs there. This will not change in me.

Second on the agenda is vaccines. Get the damn shot if you are able.
There are those that legitimately can not but the vast majority can. DO IT!
The Delta variant is being transmitted to those that are vaccinated. Tends not to affect them as badly though.
It's killing those that aren't and YES even much younger people.

We can't do better in the long haul if we ignore the short haul people.
Covid isn't killing people as much as stupid is.:(

I'll hop down from my soapbox for now.:p
