Senator Tim Scott, in response to Joy Behar's unrelenting claims of Systemic Racism in America, found his way onto The View, only to learn she played hookie the day he was invited to appear. Even so, he was grilled by Sunny Hostin and Whoopie Goldberg who'd hoped to catch him defenseless and unable to refute their position that the deck is somehow stacked against people who are not white. The members of the View somehow think that those at the bottom of the White Ladder are better off than those at the bottom of the Black Ladder? Hardly . . . their message could not be more poorly thought out. Those at the bottom are there for a reason, and being at the bottom knows no racial bounds. The only bounds at the bottom are the bounds one erects on one's own.
I heard Senator Scott say, "You can choose to be a a victim or you can choose to be victorious".... Gawd, I love that man. Thing is... I know he means it.
Subtly describing a certain View host(ess) as white with Blackface informing a black man about racism, was hilarious.
Systemic Racism does exist. There are plenty of Progressives demoralizing POC by convincing them that they don't stand a chance in this rigged country, or that cops are out to kill you because your Black. Oh, and things like showing up on time or reading books are listed as "trying to be White".
Test your knowledge question: Which political party has the most systemic Racism? Is it racism if a black Congressional Caucus refuses to let a white Congressman join?
Where shall we begin.... Didn't a Democratic President veto the Civil Rights Act of 1866. A Republican Governor from Tennessee called out the militia and declared the KKK to be a terrorist organization in 1869 . Jim Crow laws were the tools of the Democratic Party in the solidly Democratic south. Dwight Eisenhower enforced school segregation. Richard Nixon signed an executive order creating Affirmative Action, which at that time was sorely needed. Senator Robert Byrd was a Klan leader and became a Democratic Senator from West Virginia and was mentor to Joe Biden who refers to little black children as "roaches" in his rendition of the Ballad of CornPop. Democrats love to claim that racism swapped parties, which is not true. Any party classifying people by their "identity" aka race is a racist, or gender is a sexist, and so on. Republicans focus on who a person is and we all can become a better ones. We're all Americans here and come in all sizes shapes and colors.
We should be well beyond this and see people in 3 dimensions instead of a 2D cartoon. Once you really know someone, race means nothing. When you want to bring people together you focus on what you have in common. If you want to tear people apart, say "these people are not like you and are all racist" and then tell the other side "and they owe you for all the bad that happened to you!!" You'll be in Rwanda or Bosnia before you know it.
I miss checkers. Does anyone still play? As a wee lad in a very small berg in the Texas panhandle the fire alarm would sound every Tuesday evening at 6:30pm.... It wasn't for a fire though.... It was to tell all the old fellows to leave home and congregate at the firehouse for checkers.
You right. Systemic racism does exist but I keep it simple and just call it the Chinese Democrat Party
Republicans need to push hard and reach out to that segment of the population. Trump made good progress but the BS and liars have been busy.
