We had about 30 groups of goblins and ghosts tonight. It seems like trick or treat is back. That is a good sign to me, it makes me feel that people are not afraid, and they trust their neighbors.
I live in a conservative family based county of Florida. We do not have any topless bars or porn places. Religion and faith in God is also very big here. I had a few hundred trick or treaters who were escorted by an older sibbling or one parent supervising a group. There were no tricks. Just nice kids, dressing up and having fun. Most of the kids were dressed as super heros, clowns, princesses and the like. And this was right after a hurricane.
Where did you say you live, Andy? I'm moving. Just kidding, although it sounds like a really nice neighborhood. Let's just hope nobody like AJM moves there and ruins it. CraigG Answer: 1. Question: How many psychics does it take to change a lightbulb?
Feelings, feelings. How wrong they can be. As zaneman illustrates, not everyone trusts their neighbours. CraigG Answer: 1. Question: How many psychics does it take to change a lightbulb?
well i just noiced this post today so Ill share my story I was trick or treating (like a good boy should) with a guy i know from the football team and his friend. Some guy left a bowl of candy outside his house, but when we got there, only 6 pieces remained in there. We each took 2 and carried on to the next house. About 5 mins later, a pickup pulls up next to me at like a 40 MPH split second stop and a guy starts swearing at me. I asked him what is he talking about and whats wrong with him, and he just kept on swearing and accusing us of stealing candy. The other guy in the truck said he believed us and said that he thought we stole the whole bowl. They then left.------Long story short----- I take 2 pieces of candy, get almost hit by a truck, get cursed at for about 5 mins straight, and almost get hit again at they leave
Yes Spider but you seem to have retained your honor which probably could not be said of the idiots in the truck.
Most of Southwest Florida is like this. We are very much different from South Eastern Florida that only has pockets of what I describe. I took my 6 and 4 year old to a minor league hockey game last night in neighboring Lee County and there were no fights, not even on the ice. But then again, no one was really drinking in the stands either so not a foul word was aheard. Couldn't have taken the kids to Madison Square Garden in NYC where I am from. Oh by the way, Southwest Florida was hit with two major hurricanes right off the gulf in the last two years. We are right of the gulf and there was no looting, no fights on gas lines and people were prepared with supplies and listened to the "local government" and police, who are our friends and neighbors, requests before the storms hit. But then again, just about everyone here loves the United States but does not have the attitude of depending upon "big brother" to take care of them.
Hi Guy's thanks for sharing these stories they do make you feel better about things, I love to see kid's enjoying themselfs and not having to worry. Spider sorry to hear about your experiance though mate, it sounded unwarented We have started to see kids doing the trick or treat bit over here in the uk and I am all for it if they are acompanied unfortunatly many are not (Bad Parenting) De Orc
There is a lesson to be learned here Spider, and that is never, never, never stand in the street. Especiallly at night.
i wasnt on the street, i wasnt on the curb either, the guys wheels were in the grass when he started swearing
Unfortunatly Spider some people are not brought up but dragged up and have less maners than a demented skunk on acid De Orc
I drive a Van. Wish it was a mustang. But I drive a van. I guess I am a Van Man. That is the type of man I am.
