Voters in Missouri's bright blue 1st Congressional District served a sharp rebuke of the left’s progressive wing on Tuesday, denying Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., a third term.



The "Squad" Democrat lost her primary to St. Louis County prosecutor Wesley Bell, a more moderate candidate who had the backing of pro-Israel groups that spent millions to unseat Bush over her criticism of the Jewish nation.

She’s the second member of her ultra-progressive group to lose their primary after Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., similarly lost to a moderate pro-Israel Democrat.



Both are part of a growing faction of Democrats who have been critical of the U.S.’s traditionally close ties to Israel, a divide that has been on stark display since Hamas’ Oct. 7 terror attack last year.

Days after the attack, Bush said of Israel’s initial response, "Israel’s collective punishment against Palestinians for Hamas’ actions is a war crime."

But Bush appears to have taken few lessons from Bowman’s loss, instead leaning into her progressive base with an Election Day eve virtual rally with Bowman and top Israel critic Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., among others.

Democratic Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri used her concession speech this week to blast the nation's largest pro-Israel group, warning them to "be afraid."

Bush — who lost her primary election this week to a pro-Israel Democratic rival financially backed by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) — warned that the group's influence on the election has "radicalized" her.

Bush called out AIPAC in her concession speech — "All they did is radicalize me, so they need to be afraid," she said.

"AIPAC, I'm coming to tear your kingdom down," Bush declared. "And let me put all of these corporations on notice, I'm coming after you too!"

Bush, a controversial lawmaker who rose to prominence in the Black Lives Matter movement, was denied a third term when Democratic voters nominated St. Louis County prosecutor Wesley Bell for the seat that represents St. Louis City and part of St. Louis County.

Depends upon which tier of the justice system is doing the prosecuting….. If it is the tier that arrests old women for praying in the wrong place, she is home free. If it’s the tier that arrests people for burning flags, defacing public property and attacking police in front of the Capitol, she is busted……. OH WAIT!! We didn’t arrest anyone for burning flags, defacing property and attacking police did we? Well, never mind then.
