When the truth about muslims are told they resort to directly or indirectly comparing themselves to jews as victims, the koran is a book filled with hate and tells those who read it that they should befriend non-believers but if those non-believers still do not accept allah then they are soulless and it is ok to steal, rape and kill them for that is not a crime but a holy act. this is the religion that so many here are so quick to defend. So deep down you hate christians, and if a christian is pointing out that muslims are killing christians then the christians are evil people not the muslim killers. You mentioned Lebanon but fail to mention that it was a Christian nation and yes we Christians fought each other in Clan wars before the muslims started killing us off but we never killed in the name of God as the muslims do. The PLO terrorists that were shot came after our President was murdered by a car bomb. Not the first one to die that way in his family and not the last. We were promised a lasting peace supported by the western world if we stopped fighting a war we were then winning but then the west gave us up to the muslims who sell the west their oil and now own the west.

Isa the Lebanon was not the only country to welcome in Palistinians and then live to regret it, Jordan did the same and they had to expell the PLO at gunpoint, But what you fail to mention is why you took in your arab brethren in the 1st place!! Lebanon fought alongside the other arab nations that attacked the emerging state of israil and paid the price for doing so. Then your goverment sat back and allowed Arrafat and his followers to not only grow in power but to conduct raids into israil and again paid hevaly for doing so. Also in 1943 there was the National pact which made Lebanon a multi-confessional state Ie guarenteening certain rolls in goverment to different religious groupings, Please feel free to correct me if I have this wrong. Among the following key points of the agreement are: the Maronites to not seek foreign intervention and accept Lebanon as an "Arab" affiliated country, instead of a "Western" one. the Muslims (Shi'a and Sunnis) to abandon their aspirations to unite with Syria the President of the Republic to always be Maronite. the President of the Council of Ministers (prime minister) to always be Sunni. the President of the National Assembly to always be Shi'a. the deputy speaker of the Parliament has to always be a Greek Orthodox Parliament members to be in a ratio of 6:5 in favour of Christians to Muslims
You are reading what the Christians in Lebanon thought was going to be the peace which is one reason why the stopped fighting the other is that Israel was given the red light from the United States and told to withdrawl back to there orginal statement of protecting their border from missle attacks and henceforth the 20 or so miles,it has been so long, in South Lebanon. The fact was all of the Christian militias gave in thier military weapons as was said to do so in the peace agreement except for the SLA which stayed in South Lebanon with the Israelies. The fact was that the muslims did not turn in their weapons and the international force that was to oversee this had no problem taking the guns from the christians but did not take them from Hamas and other muslim militias/terrorist groups located thru out that once great nation.
Andy I am not sure who you are refering to but the situation in Lebanon was caused by the Lebanese goverment in the first place, they joined with the other arab countries to try and anihalate the fledgling state of Israil (now that is a fact) they took palistinian refugees in with the promis of returning them home once Israil was pushed into the sea (that is a fact) What did they do withthose palistinians? They placed them in camps for years which in turn became breeding grounds for terrorists and radical muslims (that is a fact) they did what every other arab country did with the refugees they refused to allow them to become citizens, they marginalised them. They did not stamp down on the PLO who opperated openly from there teritory (that is a fact) (The Jordanians did and expelled them) Then they acted rather suprised when the muslims turned on them!! by which time the christian population was no longer the majority. If it had not been for the intervention of Israil then the Lebanon would have become a truely muslim country.
Lebanon is a multi-religious state last time I checked. And so is Bosnia, and what they have in common is that no one religion is dominant completely. And like Bosnia, Lebanon has not just a couple of religions, but actually three. If I recall correctly, there are Maronite Christians, Muslims(both Sunni and Shia) and Druze. In Bosnia there are three religions, Catholic, Muslim, and Serbian Orthodox. Was that Amin Gemayel that was killed by the car bomb, or his brother, Bashir? I know they were both president of Lebanon for a short time, I believe Amin was killed in 1982. Isa, I favour no religion over another. I just wish that everybody could practice their peaceful religion without radicals pushing buttons and killing members of the other religion. Be they Christian, Druze, Muslim etc. In times of the past all of these religions in Europe and the Middle East have gone off on genocidal crusades against the other. I cannot hate Christians, but I call them for the carpet the sins they have waged against others as I would call any religion for it's sins of it's fanatical following. Curiously the only religions in the world that don't appear to go off on homicidal whackings of other religions are the MYOB Buddhist and Shinto in Asia.
In practice that Pact has fallen apart at numerous times, the US Marine intervention in 1958 when Lebanon asked for Marines to come in and keep the place from getting swallowed up by the newly formed UAR - United Arab Republic of Syria and Egypt, then and ever afterward the Civil War of 1976-1982. Up until last week Syria has never recognised the right of Lebanon to exist, and in fact has regarded it as a renegade province of Syria. So they have both occupied, and armed the Hizbollah militias there. Crazily enough, in the end game, Hizbollah may take on the Syrian government, because of course the Syrian government is not a tool of religious fanatics, but a tool of an autocratic self serving dynastic dictator in the form of President Assad. If Hizbollah can take on Israel and fight to a draw, imagine what they could do to Syria.
I quite agree Sm what I was pointing out was that it was not a sudden takeover by the muslims of a christian country as Isa hinted at, that the history behind the fall of Lebanon was quite intricated and all the blame did not lie in one quarter only. I believe that Syria is allrady cracking down on the extrimists
Actually the great majority of the time in Lebanon the executive has been a Christian. Not that until recently the central government there in Beirut really mattered much since the most of the country was/is controlled by Hizbollah, Druze militias and until recently Syrian occupiers. With some mediocre US assistance the Beirut government has been reasserting control over South Lebanon, but has a very long way to go. South Lebanon owes more allegiance to Teheran than anywhere else right now. The international community would have howled, but the Israelis had the chance to deal a fatal blow to Hizbollah in the summer of 2006 and blew it. Now they are cutting deals with Hizbollah and exchanging prisoners, including convicted terrorists. I hope that Tzipi Livni will deal with them from a hard line stance, much like Netanyahu did. Just not another weasel Olmert.

You are a very bad man to mock my religion as if it was a puppet on a string. You asked what I have done. I have spent my child during sentry duty with my father to help protect our village from night time arab muslim rape parties. I had fought with the SLA. But what do you know in your soft life. Two Lebanese presidents - both of whom can be accurately described as unwilling to take their orders from the Syrian intimidators - were assassinated immediately upon their elections. Ambassadors, elite journalists, and political and religious figures who dared to oppose Syria or muslims from Iran and the PLO were kidnapped, tortured, imprisoned, and/or assassinated. And this is in addition to the tens of thousands of Lebanese who perished in countless massacres, in months upon months of random Syrian artillery shelling of civilian areas, night kidnappings of torture/rape/death by roving muslim armed mobs and countless booby-trapped and bombed cars of which some make the news for it shows muslim might when a christian leader stood up to them.
At the threat of the arab muslim nations and by some of our own,"let us trust our arab muslim brothers leftists" Lebanon did declare war on Israel in 1948 but the truth the christians in the army and it was a christian army then did not want to fight and did not fight. Now some muslims are saying 1000 muslim lebanonese soldiers went and won crazy battles but that did not occur. The Israelis fought as if it was life or death as a people which it was and they prevented being genocided. In 1967, the army put down its foot and said it would not even in name declare war against Israel. That was when the army was still controlled by christians. I tire of the misinformation that I read here and elsewhere. It is as if the truth has been hidden and the young are fed lies as truth.
