How about a fairer, reformed system of taxation? One where everyone benefits so everyone contributes? How about a system that doesn't allow some to receive more tax money back in the form of a refund than they paid in the first place? At this point, our tax money is going to fund BO's economic "experiments" more than anything else.
Well, he is your democratically elected leader, and there are any number of checks and balances to prevent him simply doing whatever he wants - ie. a Republican-controlled House of Representatives and a tightly-balanced Senate. If he's capable of getting his "experiments" past those formidable hurdles, it's hard to see what the complaint can be. And everybody does already benefit from taxation, in the many ways that I've already specified.
I think you've missed the point....I agree everyone benefits therefore everyone should contribute. ...and, checks & balances are easily side-stepped (as BO has proven time & again) when measures are voted on in the middle of the night without time to read or debate them or when bribes are paid to Senators in order to gain thier support. BO, Pelosi & Reid exploited every procedural loophole they could when it benefited them politically (and personally). And look where it's gotten us!
Oh, right. Because the fact that the richest people in the land hoovered all the money out of the economy is ALL ABOUT BARACK OBAMA. Whose true crime still remains being a black man in the White House. My personal favorite is the "he's not my president" - do tell. So who's in charge in your country? What? You're still here? Sweetie? He's your president.
He was hired to fix it. He hasn't. Time to go. True sign of desperation. When his record can't be defended, blame it on race. Then explain Herman Cain. I really can't defend or justify a statement I've never made so please direct the question to someone who has.
Oh!! Oh good. So now you're ADMITTING that Bush made this mess. Thank you so much. That's the first time I've gotten that admission out of your side of the aisle in all my political years. Herman Cain? He's your token. He won't get the nomination, but isn't he handy for diverting the truth?
I admit the economy was faltering. Are you claiming that was being denied? Really? I give Bush policy some of the blame but not all of it. The mortgage fiasco, initiated by the libs, was the impetus. That is a foolish thing to say & speaks way more about you than it does anyone else.
Defense spending needs to be savaged. Honestly, we waste SO much money killing people and making them angry. We could spend a fraction of that money building them bridges and giving them food, for far better results. Also, we wouldn't be murdering people; bonus.
TARP was supposed to be used by the banks and large companies (private, btw) to create jobs. That hasn't happened. Instead, employees continue being laid off. Unemployment claims go up and back down, depending on the previous month's employment numbers. Large employers are continuing to rely on temp staffing agencies to fill their staffing needs, instead of hiring people who have been pushed out of the work force. Career Builder, Indeed and Monster have been confronted with their tacit acceptance of employers' discrimination against the long-term unemployed - does "to apply for this position, you must be presently employed" sound familiar? The deck is stacked against every day people - their plight is not their fault, especially if they have done everything according to the rules, i.e., they apply for unemployment and pound the pavement five days a week, churning out resumes and cover letters for every position they qualify for - then they learn they have to be EMPLOYED to apply for ANOTHER job??? How in Sam Heck is that fair?
no, obviously we will have built bombs into the bridge connected to timers connected to our fingers. seriously.
As far as missing the point goes, I followed your words very closely. They were - "How about a fairer, reformed system of taxation? One where everyone benefits so everyone contributes?". That suggested you think that not everyone benefits at present - I'm glad to discover the literal sense of those words was misleading. Incidentally, I'd be intrigued to discover how a less progressive system of taxation (ie. one that makes the poor poorer and the rich richer) could possibly be branded "fairer".
I'd support that idea for big business, but not for poor people or the lower middle-class. They need every penny from those refunds far more than anyone else.
You can once you comment enough... ten times I think. Then you can create your own threads. I know, not exactly articles...
How about we return the taxes to where they were under Eisenhower. OMG. I can't even imagine. That would be SO damn funny.
