Seems Dog pulled a "Kramer" and went on a n word laced tirade which was recorded by his son, Tucker, and sold to the Inquirer. A&E has cancelled his show. Here's the story I could find... Duane "Dog" Chapman's tape-recorded tirade has cost him his TV show. "Dog the Bounty Hunter" has been pulled off the air by A&E, the cable network announced Friday. The network stopped short of saying the show was canceled, apparently leaving open the possibility of a return with new episodes or reruns. "In evaluating the circumstances of the last few days, A&E has decided to take Dog The Bounty Hunter off the network's schedule for the foreseeable future," A&E said in prepared statement. "We hope that Mr. Chapman continues the healing process that he has begun." The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Yum Brands, which advertised Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut on "Dog the Bounty Hunter," had pulled all of its ads, calling Chapman's comments "despicable." Production of the Hawaii-based reality show was suspended earlier this week after it was reported that Chapman made repeated racial slurs in a tape-recorded phone conversation with his son, Tucker. "Dog the Bounty Hunter" went on the air in 2004 and was one of A&E's highest rated shows, averaging 1.2 million viewers in primetime. Chapman, who owns Da Kine Bail Bonds in downtown Honolulu, has apologized for repeatedly using a racial slur to refer to his son's girlfriend, who is African American. The Associated Press reported on Friday that Tucker Chapman taped the phone call with his father, and sold it to the National Inquirer which posted the tape on its Web site on Wednesday. Poor Doggie... I like the guy, I don't think he's a racist.
What I liked most about him, he treated all the people he arrested with respect and tried to give them good advice. I guess it could have been an act on the air but it didn't seem so. I have a hard time believing he hates someone because of the color of their skin. I did hear the tape and it wasn't good. He was talking about his sons girlfriend, to his son I think.. Then his son records it and sells it for like $15,000.. He musta been pissed. Gonna miss his show..
Well supposedly he's a devout Christian, and all the Christians I know would never use the N word. Disappointing.
Yeah, it was.. It said it was on the Inquirer site but I think one needs to register or pay?? I heard it on CNN.. I imagine if you watch Fox news or CNN long enough you'll hear it..
I found a link to the Enquirer and it has the audio. Dog's Racist Call Audio . . It's a good thing he made that call so that his son's girlfriend couldn't record him saying something racist. . .
HAHA........"I'm not gonna let her record me saying n*gger". Oh really? That chicken head was prolly bobbin his knob during that whole call.
Well, he obviously didn't do it for the money.. he coulda blackmailed his dad for at least 3 times that amount.. Hahahahahaha Sometimes kids can teach their parents lessons too...
His dad straight up said it, "You cannot work here if you date that n*gger". Thats bad, BUT, I find it even more reprehensible that a son would take this to the media instead of keeping it in the family. Thats a violation of a sacred trust, even if your pops is being a racist as*hole. However this does confirm that the Chapman family is every bit as much of the white trash that I thought they were.
Appears so.. the fake image and hypocrisy prolly pissed him off.. Good for him I say. If you gotta hide something or lie, it's wrong and it will bite you in the ass. Karma....
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,308142,00.html Now I can see what he means here. He works on the streets. And thats how they talk on the streets. Thats how he would talk to his informants. But America would shun him because of the political correctness.
Agreed. If he spoke this way to a person in public, especially a black person, it would be different. But this was a private conversation between a father and a son. A sacred trust in family was broken, and it matters not how much of a hypocrite and a jerk "Dog" Chapman was being. People are so fast to judge in a case like this. However imagine if everything you said privately was recorded and exposed. I bet my check that the PC police would come down hard on you. Very few of us are politically correct in our private lives.
Like I said, I don't think he's racist, but the way he was talking about his sons GF to his son woulda pissed me off too.. Perhaps he could have sat her down and said, this is the way we talk and why we talk this way, and here's $5000 to keep a lid on it instead of trying to force her out.. Hahahaha.. Price you pay for being a celeb..
Your right there. Although I don't use racial slurs I do us a lot of profanity expressing my thought about someone that would not be acceptable. You know like that ****ing ***t. Stuff like that.
I don't either.. No need..I love swearing.. Phuck yeah.. But honestly, what he did and said to his son and the way he went about it reeks of racism.. Who knows.
I say racist things all the time, but I am not a racist (I know that sounds off). The word "n*gger" is more of a descriptive insult when I use it. I have black friends that I break bread with quite often. I don't believe in racial separation or racial superiority. However I do use the word "n*gger". Some people think the true test of whether or not you are a racist is whether or not you would feel comfortable with having grandchildren of a mixed race. Which it appears is what Dog was addressing here, a fear that he may have a mixed extended family. I have never called a black person a n*gger to his/her face. Because I am a cowardly piece of white trash, I suppose.
I don't think he is truly racist, I believe his own words clearly show he is fearful of a lawsuit or his show being canceled (as is happening now with this recording being released) if the black girl would hear someone using that kind of language. This guy is from the streets and prisons, he is not from the suburbs where saying a swear word is unheard of and he was concerned that their rough edge they maintain would get them in trouble. A true racist would not have gotten married by a black preacher and that is exactly what this man did. Clearly, his son releasing the tape to the press was planned, why even record a conversation with your father? I believe he got his father worked up on the phone with a recorder running with the hopes of doing exactly what he did. I don't believe Dog should lose his way of making a living based on a private conversation where his son obviously set him up but that is for the public to decide. There is going to be an interview on Fox news tonight with the Dog and I am curious what he is going to say.
