I believe as you do, however, the argument does not work so well among those who do not. However, to look at it from a political and world culture perspective... Throughout the world there are numerous Christian and Islamic nations. You can pick and choose. There is only one Jewish nation in all, and it is a tiny piece of land considering. Why should the Jews not be allowed this one small parcel as a nation where those who wish to live in a nation maintained by Jews can go... without constant threat and attack? Should they defend themselves... yes. In 60 years, they have been threatened and attacked continuously. There is no end to it. I do not believe that they would live anything but peacefully if they were just left alone and allowed their right to exist and to run the affairs of their own country...

However, I thought that this thread was about the fight between Hamas and Fatah???

 

Zionism is a one of many, and yet a very important aspect to Judaism. You can not seperate the commandment to live in the land from Judiasm. This is not debateable. As for how your wife's family speaks of Jews in Jewish land, and speaks of the Jewish life in our land as an "occupation" that only underlines the point of how racist this tenent of Arab philosophy continues to be.

There will never be any peace and justice in the Middle East until the Arabs recongkinze not only the Jewish right to self-determination in their land, but also that the land is as a fact legally Jewish, all of it, including the entire Judain Hills and Sumaia, as well as much of Jordan, and that if they desire to live peacably in the land, that the Arabs will need to make room for the Jews they have repressed through death for nearly 6 centuries and give them their just due.

If any Arab self-determination is to happen in the future within the boarders of Jewish lands, it will happen only within the context that Jews have legitiamate claims on all of the disputed territories. Once that happens, then Jews can come back and say, OK, we're willing to share some our inheritance with Arabs who have made lives here and we can come to a solution.

But as long as Arabs continue to view the Jewish presense as foriegn and as an occupation, then the pretense for Arab genocideal warfare will continue, one which Jews, as a free people, have no interest in losing.

Having a Juden-Free west bank (gallalie or Negev for that matter) has never happened and is never going to happen.

Meanwhile, the Arabs can stop tearing up the Temple Mount and removing all the archeological evidene of the first and second temple and move out of the Caves of Hebron.

again, you arent reading, they speak about this situation no different than you do...that jews are wrong and they are right no matter what one says to them they will always go back to this...If that makes them racist then it must make you racist as well because in a debate you sound no different than them...to them, if it wasnt for world pressure, the jews would have either killed every last one of them or kicked every last one of them out, something they had, in their opinion, planned from the beginning...To them the jewish plan was genocide, exile, or slavery of all arabs in the area...For instance they mention Baruch Goldstein and how he is revered as a hero by many for the massacre of muslims....
