Regardless of who is the aggrieved party...this is what we have. Everyone agrees that (based on recent history) that Russia would react this way, so what were/are the Biden Administration's objective for proceeding down this path? These are fair questions, wouldn't you agree? "What is our objective?" and "Are we meeting our objective?" OR...are we just letting Russia lay waste to Ukraine so the World can see what a Poopy-Head Putin really is? Words only becomes Reality when they're backed with action. So far, the only people backing their words are Putin and Zelenskyy.
I keep thinking of the similarities of NATO expansion to our own Westward expansion of the 18th and 19th centuries. We gave poor folks "40 acres and a mule" if they "headed West"...not mentioning that the current occupants might object. Once one of these "savages" stepped out of line, we sent in the Calvary to march them off to a reservation. I suppose that may still work, but I thought our foreign policy had become more evolved. I wonder how we would have responded if the savages had nuclear tipped arrows.
That's a valid question...I'm not sure. I suspect it's because NATO isn't a country and doesn't make treaties...just as any single country can't make decisions for NATO. I'll have to research that more and get back to you.
What path specifically are you referring to? I know Russia disagrees with the open door policy of NATO, but it's not like NATO is going around annexing places and forcing them in. The path of respecting Ukraine's decisions and sovereignty?
That's not the point. NATO is encroaching into Russian "space". The West has the same policy. It's called "Conditional Sovereignty". Promises were made and not kept. Our intel is quite good. We knew exactly what Russia's response would be. It was no secret that putting Ukraine on the NATO M.A.P. was a "Red Line"...but we stepped across without blinking....knowing in advance that we would not come to Ukraine's defense. So...the obvious question is..."Why?". Why would we encourage Ukraine down this path...knowing what would unfold and knowing we would not help. To say we didn't know this was a high risk scenario, is being disingenuous.
Clown @yakpoo, see what I mean? The Clown discusses Armed Conflict as if he personally is commanding the resistance, on the latest video game. This Clown would drench his crotch in his own pizz, at the sight of a Spetsnaz flanking maneuver.
TTT, Clown, so you don't have to publicly display your personal favorite make-believe Army Commander toy.
Clown, I can keep this up all day, since you are incensed about a verbal attack on your favorite nap time comfort Army play toy. Did you sign up for the Armed Forces yet, to earn the street creds to discuss Armed Conflict from a POV of personal experience? An alternative: travel to Ukraine, and join the Real Resistance against an Armed Opposing Force that you opine about with elaborate video game BS. Skin in the game, Clown, skin in the game. Expect Respect for your silliness? Earn it.
Clown. Have you figured out yet that you are being played, to keep you from posting any further silly nonsense that you know nothing about?
You should borrow some money from a loan shark sometime...then, when the day comes to settled up, ask the loan shark, "Did you get that in writing?"
