I think he was just getting at how The Revs would have somehow made this a race thing whether it was or was just some sick individuals, had the perpetrators been white and the victims were black, and I agree with him that they would. Do I think that white people should cry that this was a race thing? No, but I know The Revs would have. Unfortunately that would take a Constitutional Amendment to void one of the ten amendments of the US Bill of Rights. I doubt that will ever happen. I would be willing to bet that supposed "One World Government" would happen before overturning one of the amendments of the Bill of Rights.
There are many that have long argued that the electric chair, or the death penalty altogether, is cruel and unusual. So much of it is about perspective. I am not suggesting torture, as this is not very becoming of a civilized nation. I'm talking about a firing squad. I'm talking about forgoing any appeals in very specific cases. I'm talking about allowing the next of kin of the victim to do the execution personally. I'm talking about making the video of the execution a matter of public record. Much of the problem with our executions is that they are carried out almost in secret, thusly having little social impact.
I thought you were getting at, eye for an eye, type thing of do to them what they did to their victims, or the end of Braveheart, with him being disemboweled, castrated and then drawn and quartered while alive type stuff. That would never happen. Like I've said before about executions. I think they should be offered as pay-per-view with the proceeds going to the victims families or a charity of their choosing.
I agree. The worst this trash can expect is a pain free end, and I dont think thats right. I think they should suffer horribly too, just as they made their victims do.
