Meritocracy

How about a meritocracy. This, in its original use, means a government by people who are proven, by their credentials and examination, that they are actually able to do the job they're applying for. I don't know about you guys, but when I applied for a job I had to first prove is was capable of the task. It seems to me reasonable that the leader of the free world be required to show his competence or simply if he's sane. Thoughts?

 

BO would have never been elected using this system so it probably deserves a look.

 

How predictable. Have you ever had or attempted an original thought, or are you going to cling to your bumper sticker philosophy to the bitter end?

OK! I will give you an answer. Prove? i.e. take a test, right? So it will be fine with the RW so long as they write the test and it will be fine with the LW so long as they write the test. OOOWE. That does create a problem, doesn't it?

BTW, what is wrong with the existing vetting process? Or are you afraid the press might actually be turning away from the left?

My "thought", relative to your post, was how the system you brought up would have prevented a novice like BO from ever being considered presidential material. All I can say to your subsequent posts (and those of moen, who is quickly becoming your lap dog) is if you aren't prepared for the answers, be careful with the questions.

 

You didn't answer anything. All you did was take another right wing cheap shot. Apparently you didn't understand the question or understand the concept of a question. You just yap like my dog. In both cases an annoyance, but of no consequence whatsoever.

I admit no such thing. I had no one in particular in mind when I was thinking about this although the current Repub mob does make it seem more viable. You should try to understand that not everyone's thinking is as shackled and one-way as yours, but then I'm certain you're unable to do that. I'm not embarrassed about anything except that I'm in the same species as you.

I respond in kind. When attacked I defend. I haven't said anything untrue or unwarranted. If whoever thinks I've been to harsh that too bad, but I will not apologise. Nor will I feign respect for those who deserve none.

K - Debate with ideologues is pointless. Reason has no place in their world. The RW narrative is all they know and all they can pay deference to, especially these two. They come off as foolish and call everyone else foolish. They lose every point by being unable to support their own statements but have never lost an argument, at least in their own minds. They are so self-deluded that you might as well be arguing with a pile of dung. The one thing that they cannot abide is being ignored and left out of the conversation because it doesn’t give them the ego strokes they so desperately need. So I leave them out and ignore them. They of course assume that they are just so superior that I must be dumbfounded by their infallible logic and wisdom. That is no time to start giving a crap about what they think. They are two of the least liked posters here and that has not change nor will it change. Their greatest accomplishment is to drive people with opposing opinions away because they know how weak their side actually is. Unfortunately for them, loving to argue for the sake of arguing doesn’t make you right or even good at it. I think that they must be just very unhappy people that need the confrontation they create here to give their lives some sort of meaning. I love to not cooperate with them and even though I can openly admit what I do to them, there is nothing they can do about it. It must be frustrating to be them. Too bad!
